In 2010 in Birmingham there were 3 golds (2 for Beth on Floor & Bars & Dan Keatings on Pommel), 3 silvers & a bronze so not quite the best.
I'd agree on the likely medal haul in Rio. Both teams have a chance (men's is stronger). Max has a chance of 3 individual medals and he & Louis have the best chance of gold on PH. Downies & Claudia have chances for apparatus medals and after Simone Biles & Gabby Douglas the Bronze AA around is wide open with Ellie having an outside chance.
I think for the men the selectors will end up going for experience with Max, Dan, Kristian, Louis & Nile. On the women's I think 4 places are sewn up with the Downies, Frags & Amy Tinkler. 5th is still up for grabs as I don't think Ruby has yet done enough and only way they would take Gabby Jupp is if Becky got injured as she is not back working floor & Vault after her injuries. Not sure what the status is with Becky Tunney & if she'll be available for selection & competing in the next few weeks. Nobody else is sticking their hand up for me
