Do soap fans remember this Brookie storyline of Susannah Farnham's death? Granted, the murder mystery was revealed by the end of the week, but each episode had a different suspect confront Susannah. Ultimately, her last visitor was her ex husband Max (wink wink) who was witness to her death (which was a simple accident of falling down the stairs and breaking her neck). Susannah's final storyline involved threats to expose an affair she'd had (sound familiar) and resentments with various rivals coming to the fore. There was also a sense of her being a middle class independent woman and so reviled by 'ordinary people' and I think Lucy, regardless of her family's heritage, also has that perception about her.
Anyway, the Brookie episodes surrounding Susannah's death are available on youtube so draw the comparisons yourself as EE launches its own version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxJIIRYIvtg

Loved that week, loads of suspects to choose from and you didnt have to wait six weeks to see what had happened like a few years before when laura gordon davies fell down the stairs!

I have a vague memory of Terry pushing an innocent woman and baby off some scaffolding. That was really disturbing.

One of brookie's best storylines! Loved that week of episodes and was very well planned out!!

And max was the least likely culprit for me, so I was really shocked on the final episode!! "No wonder the neighbours call you the whore next door.." Lol!

That was Sue Sullivan, and it wasn't Terry, it was Barry Grant. He got away with her murder.

That was a great week of episodes. We saw her lying at the bottom of the stairs in Friday's episode and then there were 5 episodes the next week, each one focussing on a different person coming to see her. I think it was a few weeks before her body was discovered as everyone thought she'd done a runner after her wedding was called off.

One question though. I've been re-watching these episodes on youtube and in the aftermath (before Susannah's body had been discovered), Max wanted Leanne to go round to Susannah's to collect some things for Harry and Emma. He was very insistent that it had to be Leanne who went and was horrified when he discovered Lance had gone instead. Can anyone remember if there was a particular reason for this or if it was purely because Max didn't like Leanne very much?

Ah ok. It's weird to see you in a normal thread!

I seem to remember Terrys angry face though!

I loved Susannah's death on Brookside, a brilliant storyline. If i recall Max thought he had killed her and fled the scene however her body was later discovered in a different room of the house not at the foot of the stairs meaning she had survived the initial fall and collapsed again later on from her injuries. So her death could have possibly been prevented if Max had got help straight away.

Susannah was a fabulous character she could be a real bitch at times but also had this really vulnerable side to her, the loss of her children was so tragic.

Very tragic episode. Those kids were little brats but it was heartbreaking.

Wouldn't mind Karen Drury popping into the Vic and flirting with Mick.
