Hi all

As I've posted eleswhere, I'm thinking of dumping sky and have been looking into several other options. One is a 2nd Vestel box, either the T7655 ( Hitachi HDR5T01 ) or another T7650 ( LOGIKL1HSTB12 ), got one already.
Question is would the remotes interfere with each other? I'm thinking yes for the Logik box but how about the Hitachi?

Cheers Tom

I have used a Bush HD T7650, Technika SD T835 and HD T8300, Technisat HDFV and SEG SD boxes, of these four are Vestel sourced, the Vestel boxes all use use the same codes and the Techisat uses some of the same. So I think is very likely they will clash unless one is in standby.

I've just read that you can change the frequency on some of the Humax units. Any ideas if that can be done on the newer Vestel boxes?

Not aware if it is possible, if it could be I would have suggested it, but stand to be corrected. I know you can on some models of Humax, Philips and Panasonic and some others.

I can't comment on the HD Vestel PVRs but some years ago I used two Vestel PVRs in a SCART daisy chain. Both PVRs responded to remote commands if they were both operational. However, I used the following workaround (if I remember correctly). With the low power standby option disabled (if available on either PVR) I initially set one PVR to standby and the other operational (shielding one of the PVRs if necessary to achieve this). In this mode only one PVR responded to remote commands. If I pressed the Standby button remote commands were transferred to the other PVR. I was thus able to toggle between the two PVRs with a single button press.

I think I know what you mean. Pressing standby simultaneously turns one box on while turning the other on?

Yes that's it. I assume your final word was intended to be "off" not "on"?
