Very bad news So sorry to hear this. At Cats Protection of course we advise owners to take out pet insurance but we are also aware than many of them simply can't afford it. I have to confess my own cat Rosie Bagpuss had no insurance but fortunately she only ever got sick a couple of times in her long life, mostly due to her being a lazy old sausage who rarely wandered more than a few yards from the back door!

I wish I got him insured but it's always something you think I'll do later and now I know they won't cover if this reoccurs. I will make sure he's insured and the kitten as well once these vet bills have been sorted

If you can possibly manage the monthly instalments it's peace of mind for you should the worst happen. Sometimes insurances also cover flea and worming treatments for the same cost....look into the best deal!

This thread is struggling these days

Update on my kitty cat. He's on antibiotics and a muscle relaxant right now. He's a little uncomfortable down below but that could either be from all the vets have been doing down there, the cause of why he had to go to the vets or because the muscle relaxant is making him pee a bit.

He's had one decent go outside on lead and smaller bits otherwise. But he's made some improvement from when I first brought him in

Most of the time tumbleweed blows through here CB! Has the vet reached a proper diagnosis?

Not as such no.
He had a very inflammed bladder and blood in his urine. They sent some of his urine off for testing and that's not back yet. Due to the blood they think he might have had blood clots clogging him up.

Poor wee thing....I wonder how that happened to him Hopefully the antibiotics will sort him out!

You can have it for a day. Just don't charge anyone entry fees or build any attractions!! OK?
