If I read it right demigender is where you sort of identify with the gender you were born with but don't follow societal accepted rules of it. I guess best way to describe it is you feel only a partial connection to your gender.

I think it suits me because whilst I was born female and I don't feel like I was born in the wrong body I don't really feel much connection to being female either. I find the female specific body parts to be an absolute nuisance at best. I have zero interest in getting pregnant and having children. And my personal choices tend to involved masculine or unisex clothing, absolutely no make-up or heels or any of those female styles and yet I would still find it a little strange to wear say a Tuxedo.

And I say demifemale but the usual term is demigirl and I don't like the word girl so I use female instead.

Interesting to know these things, like sonia I like to find out about stuff what was never mentioned when we were growing up. Looking back I realise how many friends fell into the spectrum of outside the stereotypical gender types. Although I knew of gay men when I was about 14 believe it or not I had no idea women could be gay until I was nearly 18. Talk about innocent in those days. The works of Sappho enlightened me

I also consider myself asexual or maybe just with a very low libido, possibly straight, possible Bi. Gender identity is much easier for me. I've never had sex and really not sure if I'm fussed either. So yeah let's just go with Asexual.

It's amazing how much information is out there and how many sexualities there are. I think ultimately you can't even equate a true label to anyone. It's fascinating and confusion and sort of makes me understand why some people would rather just the simplicity of male and female.

I think it's simpler if you ARE one of the two typical sexual types but more confusing if you are not sure quite where you fit in. I'm sure it doesn't matter about fitting in myself. My BIL was also asexual and never had sex or wanted it while identifying mainly as male. I just accepted him as he was. My FIL just wanted to know was he gay or straight but never really got that answer.

A gay friend of mine once wisely said no one is 100% anything. We're all a little bit queer. I think he's right.
