I've never had a sick day despite being sick before and I'm really tempted to call in sick today as I feel like extra crap.
Itchy throat, runny nose, occasional cough, heavy head, vomited a couple of times and a queasy stomach. And I feel better then I did last night even with all that.
Yet despite those symptoms I feel too guilty to call in sick as I can physically stand and do things. even though my body says go back to sleep. And also because others have been in with a cold before.
Hoping they take one look at me when I go in for 1.30 and say go home.

I'm surprised you can drive after a week with those levels

I think sometimes bosses give brownie points if you haul ass to work. It might be worth actually asking if they want you to stay bearing in mind you will be infectious. Say you didn't want to let them down, but also thought it best to make them aware of your illness. Double brownie points. And it is their call then if you stay or go, so if others got sick it's not down to you.

well I felt better just getting out of the flat. Still sick as a dog but the managers were considerate of my illness and I don't know if it's related but there were extra hours going this week and despite not feeling well I've taken them.

Soniar everyone else at work has already been sick. So if anything I've caught it from one of them lol.

Such a shame about Carrie Fisher and Richard Adams today

Very shocking re Carrie Fisher.....Richard Adams had at least had a good long life. She was too young!

Just a rant: If you can't do something tell me so I can make other plans. yeesh

I can't get something to eat in town when I go to work instead. But now? I've got three and half hours left to go food shopping , eat dinner, get dressed and walk to work. And that's if we leave for tesco now.

nevemind we're leaving in 15 minutes. That's 2.30 shopping will take around an hour and a half so that's 4pm. That gives me another hour and a half to eat dinner and get dressed before I leave for work.

Absolutely, they will sit, sneeze, cough every few minutes and infect the whole office just so they can say "I've never had a day off in my life". FFS just go home, sleep, watch TV and get better

I could understand it when I lived in the US, there Sick Days come out of your Paid Days Off and once you run out you don't get paid. But here you'll get paid full pay so just go home

Usually I'll tell them to go and come back when they're well and try not to touch anything on their way out

I just want an early night but it's new years eve so I'm expected to join in. I wouldn't mind but it's all about drinking for everyone else and I can't think of a more boring thing to do then watch other people get drunk.

It's just a night. It's no big deal! If you want to go to bed, feel free it's no ones business but your own
