The rock bottom production values of local news. It's on every single day, putting some money into it would be an investment. ITV seems pretty shoestring sometimes (that's Granada Reports for me).

IPP - In product promotion.
It's those little graphics that popup near the end of a programme, usually on the lesser channels. I've been watching the 15-2-1 repeats on Challenge and as i'm watching a recording I don't know how long of the programme is left. In the final round a player could be on 50 points but have a possible 200 points to get to the top of the leader board and then pops up the IPP meaning that the programme is about to finish so now I know that this player is going to lose their lives and finish on 60 points or something. |

I've been watching Emmerdale, Corrie and Eastenders ever since each of them began and still cannot remember who is who in each because more often than not there seems to be the same sort of storyline going on in each soap at the same time. Who killed who, who's having an affair with who, who is pregnant by who, who is suffering from a debilitating illness and who is about to die? And, please, soap writers in future can you make sure that your main characters at least have different names. Peter, Peter, David, David, Tina, Tina etc etc ........................

Saturday Kitchen, when James Martin's just had a guest chef go through a recipe step by detailed step, and then finishes the piece by saying to them, "So, just tell us what it is you've made," when it's fairly obvious by then...

Pointless blurring.
They do it for faces, t-shirts, on screen captions and then a couple of scenes later they show the same thing unblurred. |

Big Star Guest on a Live TV show.......no matter how interesting the conversation is going - we get - "Sorry we'll have to leave it there and go for a break!"
It's not their fault, I know. But it's bloody annoying (it must be frustrating for the guest too!) |

Broad regional accents on continuity announcements. The days of BBC accents are thankfully a thing of the past but some of these people overdo it as if to prove a point.Includes some Scottish,Welsh and Irish too.

If it hasn't been mentioned before, stand up comedy shows where the camera gets in the face of a couple of people in the audience who are laughing hysterically while in the background you can see most other people sat there straight faced waiting for something funny.

15 to 1
One thing i've started to find annoying is getting to the questions. WGS: Are you ready? Contestant: Yes WGS: Ok, i'll just give you a recap of the rules....blah blah WGS: Are you ready? Contestant: Yes Not sure why it annoys me. Just one of those little things that does when he asks if they're ready the first time when it's not required. |

Sophie Raworth, poolside at The Commonwealths for the news: ''And in the last hour, Bradley Wiggins' track cycling team have failed to take away gold in their event...here's *insert name* with the story''
Then, more or less, from the correspondent: ''Bradley Wiggins, Olympic champion and Tour De France winner 2 years ago...but COULD he take away a Commonwealth gold today?'' ...well, no? Obviously not? Not if Sophie Raworth is to be believed? How pointless is asking if he can do it, when the outcome is given away in the link to the report?! |

In the pre-titles the voice over was saying "Will Freddie get his wish of seeing killer whales?" Then it cuts to a shot of him in the boat with killer whales swimming around the boat. Well, that answers that question doesn't it. |

Every week on "Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares" the voiceover says "this is Gordon's TOUGHEST challenge yet". Every week, without fail.

On Pointless when Alexander Armstrong reads out the options twice.
ITV3 showing the same episodes of Midsomer Murders and Inspector Morse all the time, and ITV1 always putting the worst episodes of MM on. Pretentious adverts Simon Rimmer always rushing the cooking item on Sunday Brunch. They should give him more time, because it often leads to him not listening to what Tim Lovejoy or a guest are saying. On game shows where the contestants explain why they chose the answer, especially if the question is really easy. The main channels putting crappy stuff on on Saturday evenings. |

The need to show a summary of every programme before the whole thing is then shown...what is the point of that? Plus recaps of the programme during it, as if we have had time to forget.
Please stop doing this. |

The cat-worship that seems to be going round my friends at the moment. Every friend seems to have cats, or is getting cats. Now I like cats, don't get me wrong, and they're very cute. I've even cat-sitted a few times for friends. But it's starting to feel like having pet cats is the cool thing to do, everyone's doing it, and it's getting a bit much. They all love How To Train Your Dragon.. because the dragons are basically cats. It's really winding me up.

When a programme/film you're watching is really quiet, so you have to turn it up loud to hear it, then when an advert comes on it's really loud and just the fact that the songs in adverts in general are twice as loud as everything else on TV.
Them Nicole scherzinger adverts, where she's making those false orgasm noises. They're always REALLY loud. I don't know why?? I hate comedies like Friends and The Big Bang Theory, where they always have an invisible audience fake laughing. It irritates me. Why can't we just decide for ourselves what parts are funny? The fact the time adverts run inbetween programmes on BBC channels are becoming longer and longer. The amount of repeats. The fact we have sky+ hd and the best thing normally on is something over on food network. Programmes like Teen Mom and Toddlers and Tiaras. The Fact nobody in a KFC/McDonalds advert is overweight. |
