I watched the TV programme, Countdown to Murder, the other night and got completely muddled because it seemed to start at the end, and then scenes were 're-enacted several times, in no particular order so I eventually lost track. Very irritating..

..... and .... as I loved Cilla Black 's songs back in the sixties I was looking forward to the three part mini series about her starting on ITV this Autumn. But, judging by the trailer it looks to be a mix of cheap wigs and special effects photography. I do hope I am wrong.

Pfft... you could use that stock put-down against almost any flippant, thrown-off attempt at half-arsed comedy on DS (which I'll admit mine certainly was). Though it'd pretty much swamp everything else if you did that every time it was justified.

..are meant to be half-baked deadpan comedy, or do you actually believe that fictional ex-pub-landlord "Grant Mitchell" was name of the guy who presented the show?!
(I'm assuming this refers to Ross Kemp and not another (real) "Grant Mitchell" who purely coincidentally also does documentaries on gangs.)

Oh this is the bane of my life - I find Nigella's programmes almost unwatchable. If I'm not feeling nauseous from the camera un/re-focusing (surely not a desired response to a cookery programme!), then I'm getting a headache from the zooming in and out and soft-focus of Nigella, a colander, a saucepan lid, random spoons and bizarrely angled shots that don't allow you to see WTF she's actually doing!
If I watch a cookery programme, it's because I want to see how something is actually cooked, not a zooming unfocused shot of Nigella's left hand or an artistically placed cleaver

There was a Nigel Slater programme on last Christmas that was so bad (in terms of the food porn style-over-substance presentation actually detracting from the cooking it was allegedly teaching you) that I started a whole damn thread about it.

I don't much care whether they call them +1 or -1 but would like to know what's the point of having them at all if they don't show a whole programme? I was watching a re-run of Blue Murder tonight on ITV3+1 and the station just closed down at Midnight with 20 minutes of the programme left to run! So annoying! This is not the only channel to be guilty of this but it needs sorting.

In reality shows/competitions where contestants are talking in present tense about what happened to them during the show.
Pointless profanity warnings, one of which occurred during the film The Ides Of March which aired at 21:15 on BBC2 last night, about 15 minutes into the film a box appeared on the screen with the message "this programme contains strong language" just before the first swear word was spoken, surely they could have just given a spoken warning before the film started although the fact it started after the watershed I would have thought should have meant that no warning was necessary at all.

In fact anyone who puts on a silly pretend accent whether it be Scottish, Welsh, Yorkshire, Norfolk or maybe Somerset or Cornish. But never a London accent. I wonder why?

That might be to make it more ambiguous and fox early-buzzing contestants. With the second formulation you could wrongly anticipate that the answer was going to be The Sound of Music as opposed to Von Trapp. Whereas with the first version you pretty much have to listen to the whole question before buzzing, making it a lot less likely you'll get it wrong.
One that really bugs me is that a judge on a talent show (SCD,x factor etc) can no longer give a good honest opinion of a performance & tell the constant how they could improve without the audience booing so loud that you actually end up missing what the judge has said. It has got worse over the last couple years
