The inane banter between Xander & Osman on Pointless. I don't mind a little bit of banter but when it goes on for over 4 minutes it gets really TEDIOUS!

Betting firm adverts, everytime live sport on commercial channel, theres at least 2 ads for Betting firms every ad break.

I'm sure that if I had £1.5 million to spend on a house, I would be able to find it myself! BUT what really bugs me is how there's always a segment showing the poor souls having to look at some local stately home or farm or sporting activity, similarly having to watch the presenter on the local steam train, making cheese or some such. Is it Escape to the Country, Countryfile or Blue Peter? I want to see the houses not these pointless fillers!

I think its always been his nickname. I recall an interview years ago with his cousin Imogen Stubbs who had some anecdotes about when they flat shared - she called him Xander then.
Xander is a common diminutive of Alexander along with the more obvious Alex and Sandy.

And I think they're both university chums so presumably a nickname they've long used.

Any of those 'revisited' programmes where the first 55 or so minutes is stuff we've seen already and the last 5 minutes is the new stuff. I hate it when channels do this. My EPG said there was a new Cowboy Builders on but it turned out to be a bloody revisited episode!

Echoing what others have said about the credits squeeze and voiceovers talking over the credits, BBC2 did this last night when I was listening to the awesome soundtrack/end credit music of 2001: A Space Odyssey. *Insert grumpy face here.

Seeing the same people on television all the time. Some of the 'celebs' have three or four jobs in various shows. Eamon Holmes is a good example as is Phil Schofield. Programmes exist because they talk about other programmes too.
Continual trailers for up and coming programmes spoil the actual show, you feel as though you have seen it when it does come on.

When Pop Idol was on back in 2002 Dec Donnelly only waited a few seconds to announce the winner. Since then the time has got longer and longer. Don't they realise it doesn't add to the tension at all, just makes us all infuriated!

Make-up ads which use all sorts of scientific mumbo-jumbo. "Contains hexaflexawibblybobulene tricyclic dioxide."

I was watching an episode of Crystal Maze this morning and there were 3 ad breaks. One of them happened just before the Crystal Dome part!

We get BBC 1 NI on cable, but when watching Final Score on a Saturdays, it opts over to the Northern Irish soccer results at 5:00 which means the best bits of the English premiership aftermath are missed.

I've got both Match of the Day and The Football League Show on series record, so that I can watch it on Sunday morning and fast-forward past the punditry. There have been times when it's gone back to where I stopped fast-forwarding when the game ends and I go to fast-forward to the next game.
