This, you can add Question Of Sport to that used to be unmissable, but can't stand QOS these days, & Have I Got News For You is going the same way.

People who go on quiz shows and

(a) claim they don't want any questions on politics, history or pretty much anything else apart from TV. If you don't have general knowledge, don't go on the shows!
(b) complain that 'it's before my time' if asked about music, books or films dating from prior to about 1990. You wouldn't get someone complain that a question about the Victorian era is 'before my time,' so grow up!
(c) reply, when asked before important rounds if they're nervous, 'We'll see' - that doesn't even make sense! You're either nervous or you're not, here and now!

Also news programmes that insist on talking to someone over Skype or video phone and, even though it's patently obvious that it's not going to work, they just plough on in spite of cut outs, freezes and sound delays.

Also anyone on TV who shouts 'Give it up' at the audience. If it's worth applause, it'll get it. If it doesn't, it shouldn't.

Also, people who still phone up TV shows and turn up the volume of their TV sets so that they can hear themselves while they call. Cue about ten minutes of 'Can you turn your TV down?' 'Hello?' 'Can you-' 'Can anyone hear me?' 'Can you turn your TV down!!!'

Also: weather forecasters who insist on also telling you what sporting events are being covered on TV or radio. Just tell us the weather and leave the listings to tv guides!

Another one from Pointless: when asked what they do, they reply: 'I'm retired'. As if that means they don't do anything at all. Then they basically get asked again and they suddenly remember they don't exist in a coma and respond like an adult human being. It's SO tiresome on show after show.

This is a bit deja vu; I'm sure I have read this comment before, some time ago. Nevertheless, I agree, whole heartedly!

I've made that comment before. What's wrong with a phonecall with a photo and title on screen?
More reliable and better quality than attempting bad quality videophone messages.

Comedians and impersonators who never switch off, as it were. Any interview, anywhere, they're off with the gags and impressions within seconds, none of which are ever really laugh-out-loud things either. Actors don't act during their interviews, singers don't sing their way through interviews, drop the character act for 5 minutes and give us something interesting or insightful about your life/career! Sheesh.

I think it was Lee Mack who said to him "I can't do an impression of Ronnie Corbett, but if I could, I wouldn't KEEP ON doing it !"

Channels showing repeats of Christmas editions of sitcoms in the spring or summer. The Christmas schedules aren't very good at the best of times, so why not add a few repeats of old seasonal sitcoms instead of showing them when no one is in the mood for them? (It's not a contractual thing these days because sometimes the episodes are shown out of sequence and as one-offs.)

They must pay a fortune for a 'celebrity' to make unnecessary comments.
Simply get rid of them and buy some more clips

Adverts for a new season of TV shows or movies that feature clips as if they're responding to the voiceover's news e.g. clips of "That's amazing!" and "Woo-hoo!".

Lee Mack and Brian Conley. Treat every interview like an audition.

I hate busy screens. Captions, news feeds, temperatures of every town and city, a clock and their logo - that is what is on the bottom of the screen for Gd Morn Britain. Too much. It is all part of the trying to do several things at once culture we are currently in. I don't need to know the temperature in Saltburn when I am in London trying to watch the news.

The aftermath of sex scenes in dramas. We are meant to think they have had a hot and steamy session and then one of them gets out of bed and they have pants on. I don't want to see bums etc but just a bit of authenticity. If the actors/actresses have a no nudity clause, fine, don't show them getting out of bed then.

The same faces appearing in everything. I don't believe our talent pool is that small. It is just lazy casting.

Why is the BBC1 8 pm ''90 second news'' always read by a woman ? I don't think I've ever seen a man read it.

Why is the 9 am news on the Andrew Marr Show on Sundays always read by the woman presenter on Breakfast, never the male presenter ?

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show - PLEASE BBC find someone else to replace that awful voice that is Carol Klein! Just because she knows a bit about gardening it doesn't mean she'll be that attractive on the screen.

Voiceover 'artists' who just aren't suitable for the job

THIS! Bugs the life out of me. They'll hold the iphone to their ear but you can see their home screen with all the apps on! Clearly not making a phone call! Same applies when a character is playing on an Xbox and you can clearly see the controller isn't even switched on!

My personal pet peeve is adverts, generally. Too many. Too repetitive. Sponsorship ads are the worst. BGT was almost unbearable to watch with those loathsome Morrison's adverts. There must be a billion different adverts at the hands of ITV etc, surely we can see a different bunch each advert break. But no, you watch a two hour programme and you'll see the SAME set of adverts every 15 minutes. Although technically not telly, 4OD is a pain in the ass for adverts. I've been watching some documentaries on there recently and you see their own advert for 4OD itself sometimes THREE times in a row during an 'ad break'. Really grates on you after a bit, puts me off using it in future!

I tend to see the promo for The Devil's Whore over and over. They have it twice in the same ad break!

Does he do programme voiceovers or just CA?
I was thinking more of people who do the VO for whole programmes/series.
