They looked so seductive on Ideal world,
no fat needed, the fried eggs sliding around
on the white ceramic .

Omelettes... no probs ... cooked in no time.
One quick wipe and the pan was clean... ready for bacon and eggs.

It all seemed too good to be true.
Of course I bought the two pans, large and small.

The small pan was used a lot more than the big , heavy pan........
3 months down the line all that pristine white has gone, it is a mass of brown stains and looks a mess.

They never mentioned this result on the TV advert !
Soap and light scouring just dont have any effect.
Can anyone point me to some product that might remove these aweful stains ? or is my small frying pan too far gone ?

You should've bought Tefal Intensium, unless you have induction hobs. My Mum had the same problem with ceramic pans as you and I wouldn't touch 'em personally. I bought a 24cm Intensium frying pan only a couple of months ago as it was half price on Amazon to replace my last Tefal which I bought in 1987.

The Tefal 20cm omelette pan from '87 is still going strong and the Intensium wasn't discounted on Amazon. I clean all my pans and dishes with Vileda Active Wave Non-scratch scourers. A pack of 2 costs £1 in Wilkinsons and each scourer lasts for months.

They do look good in the commercials but I am happy with a traditional non-stick pan

Try boiling with water and washing soda for 15 minutes.
Then use a rough paper towel, not those cotton soft 3-ply ones, but the cheapest you can get, to get rid of what's left of the grease layer.
To avoid build up of the grease layer, you have to do this regularly.

Ceramic pans are more trouble than they are worth.

The brown stains on the white ceramic background look so gross....
I tried alka salsa but that had little effect

Once you clean the pan, it s probably ok but who wants
to cook in a pan that is full of brown stains.

The big, heavy frying pan is still pristine white, but then

Ive only used it once or twice, but Ive been using the small pan
on a daily basis ......

I ll probably bin it in the end it looks so badly stained
