Just thought I'd post if anybody was looking for one.

They had an offer of £38/month and £29 for the phone, but phoned them up this morning and got it a little cheaper with a free phone and £37/month (which makes it a little better).

That's with 300mins, unlimited texts and data and 2gb tethering.

Also getting a home booster box included.

Man, contract prices keep going up...

When will people realise that the majority of the time SIM only works out cheaper.

Usually they do, but have been waiting for this type of deal.

Worked out I am paying £506.40 for the phone itself over 2 years £37-£15.90=£21.10 per month for the phone times 24 months. That's working out the same contract on SIM only deal is £15.90 each month (would have to go for this deal of I did as Three would not supply a booster box for home on my rolling £12.90/month SIM only deal).

Also the fact that I don't have £470 to shell out for the SIM free phone at the moment.

No no, I do agree. This Is the reason 99% of people sign a contract.

my personal view is that if I cant afford to pay it in full at the time then there is no point having it. Obviously something like a house is an exception. But I dislike the whole credit thing.

Overall though what you're getting is alright compared to a sim only alternative. Only a few £ more.

but for the extra pound you get 600 mins not 300

http://www.three.co.uk/Discover/Devi...Charcoal_Black

imo and its only my opinion, i think that's a shockingly $hit deal

ive had all the galaxy's from first to the forth and the mega and note 2, i couldn't justify nearly £40 for the s5, i got my s4 6 months ago with the 500 mins AYCE data for £18 pm no upfont

i think im done with 24 month contracts

BTW im not trying to make you regret your purchase, but as jabba just said, these contracts are getting stupid, it was only recently that if someone paid that for a brand new iphone, people would of ripped the pi$$

Very phone dependant though, iphones usually don't work out cheaper. Even if it is very close I would rather have two years interest free that use my money up front.

Why do I want 600 mins when I only use 100 each month?

Also it's not just a pound extra each month - it's also £29 for the phone and worked out over 24 months it's £39.20 each month.

I have a house and 5 year old twins and everything is budgeted. To shell out £470 in one go is a lot of money and it's not like all of it is credit as a proportion of it's for line rental that you use each month and not the phone itself.

Also it's not really like credit as I'm not going to be paying the equivalent of interest over the 24 months as the price I'll actually be paying for the phone is cheaper than a lot of places are selling it SIM free anyway.

Sounds good (I've gone for the blue as well).

Was that the deal that was on UK Hot Deals with 4gb data not directly from EE? If so I did look at that one and was tempted, but really wanted at least 10gb of data minimum.

I've been offered Unlimited Everything + 2GB of data tethering [since 3 have scrapped unlimited tethering now and only allow 2GB on the highest tariff...] plus a free handset for £40.

When worked out in comparison to the £38 [£29 handset] deal, it's pretty good value. For an extra £19 over the two years you get unlimited minutes thrown in + that bit of tethering you wouldn't usually get.

I guess it depends on how many mins you use each mont?

I normally only use about 100 mins so 300mins is more than enough for me (that's 5 hours on the phone each month).

It is all relative. They went through my minute usage over the last 12 months and most months I was approaching 500 and once I went over 600.

Really enjoying the phone so far and I treated myself and purchased a Gear 2 Neo as well. Excellent!

I'm loving the S5 so far.

The only thing I'm slightly disappointed with is the fingerprint recognition as mine seems 50/50 if it works or not although it may be down to my dry skin (I have eczema).

I have bought a decent gel case, but in finding it slippery so have just purchased the following case which should hopefully be better: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HS5LX2...986871_TE_item

It's a clear Ringke Fusion one (supposed to be £30 down to £8.99 with free postage (bought a USB3 lead to get it upto the free postage).

It's got lots of good reviews even when it was at £30.
