Hahah Good Morning Calendar.. how bizarre that was Britain's first breakfast show in 1977.

What's the weather symbol next to the cloud? An umbrella?

Half hour in then and here's my thoughts

1. Not a bad start. Much better than Good Morning Britain

2. Like that they've scrapped ads for the first half hour

3. They are clashing with BBC times. Local news at 6.25 and I see sports news now 6.35

4. Music is sky news rip off

5. One Direction is a decent decision to use on Day One but sure its a cynical attempt to grab the school audience and hence parents.

6. Charlotte is star so far.

7. Behind that desk and a few men will miss Miss Reid's legs.

If so..that's really lame.

Susannah and Ben look awful in those close-ups

Credit where its due, its a lot more interesting than bbc breakfast but it needs to chill a bit like Sunrise.

I love GMB so far, it looks fresh and interesting and one can see they are doing their best.

They'd also rebranded the local programme as "Good Morning Meridian".

Thankfully they seem to have done away with the cheesey one liner which they had with Daybreak where the local presenter would say "Welcome to your Daybreak headlines from the Meridian region."

Can we assume the 7am bit is less styled like news hour or is it the theme throughout? Can't see Lorraine sitting behind a desk...!

Im sure the first ever daybreak had no ads for the first half hour, maybe more.

Thank God they got rid of Lorraine. I really couldn't stand the women, especially first thing in the morning.

Yeh, the umbrella appears to be in varying stages of being open or closed depending on the percentage.

Oh dear, here comes a competition.

Ben kills the conversation stone dead.

I think it may turn to mush after 7am.

The advert breaks will kick in, the competitions will start and heaven forbid Lorraine will appear.

I don't want to see local morons competing to win cash.

Oh dear and then they go and spoil it with a phone competition. The sports news was very lame too. BBC do it so so much better. Sally is far better than Sean.

Competition time ..... I'm back over to BBC.

I shall be back, this is too critical not to see how GMB copes with adverts.
