Hopefully Charlotte doesn't get sidelined again like she did in the EU Referendum Results.

I would hope it meant Charlotte was a main presenter on the other days. She did an excellent job presenting all 5 days (I think it was) during half term 2 weeks ago.

Does an excellent job but turns viewers away with boredom. Yawn. She's so boring.

I'd personally disagree. It's refreshing to see somebody as natural as Charlotte, especially compared to the likes of Susanna and Kate who deliberately play up to the cameras to get column space.

I think it was also quite unfair how Kate Garraway clawed her way back in when Charlotte was on maternity leave. Garraway went from being Charlotte's stand in to a main presenter.

Charlotte though does remain part of the main team with Susanna and Piers, and while I would prefer her to present with Ben on a Friday instead of Garraway, maybe Charlotte is happier doing just the 3 days right now.

Going by a picture on Erron Gordon's Twitter account GMB are using the Times Square Studios. The BBC sometimes use these studios as well so it might be getting pretty busy in there. (It is a huge studio mind ABC, ESPN Good Morning America plus others all use it)

So the 'studio' looks like two office chairs on a balcony...

But Erron Gordon also put another picture on inside somewhere.

I think I read somewhere that there are 12 separate studios in the Times Square Studio building but it looks like they have gone for the balcony of the canteen in order to get in the Times Square Backdrop (and also the temporary GMB/ITV stickers that they have put on the glass panels). Susanna Reid was back doing her impression of the nodding Churchill Dog that she does from time to time when she was interviewing some yanks in a bar.

It looks like they used the restaurant for the rest of the show as well probably all the other studios were booked up and that was all they were left with? The Times Square backdrop looks impressive mind but I am not too sure if it made that much difference to the show having Piers and Susanna in New York rather than London ( but being the US election I suppose they were always going to do it). Also they get Springer and Coulter (who are obviously not wanted by the US networks) in the flesh rather than a satellite link and also Piers was in America anyway. Back in London Ben and Kate always seem to work well together.

Springer is quite a decent guest and he always gives his monies worth. Coulter is just a rent gob guest from Piers CNN days.

I'm surprised they need any guests at all as they have Piers who we all know is the world's leading authority on US politics (and almost everything else USA).

I'm not sure there are that many free studios in Times Square. Sky News have had to convert a hotel lounge into a makeshift studio. If there was an available studio, Sky News would be using it.

The two office chairs on the balcony looked ridiculous. The dark restaurant looked almost as bad.

I normally avoid GMB like the plague, but my wife was watching it so I had to sit through Moron and Reid gushing over Trump's victory. Reid seemed particularly excited about the result, especially when she started wearing a Trump baseball cap she said she bought the day before.

The most ridiculous point came when they (in NYC) were interviewing the US Ambassador to London (in London). Apart from the geographical irony of this, Reid was asking him to speculate about the future under Trump which he couldn't possibly do as a diplomat. And why should he be as pleased about it as she clearly was when he's likely to be replaced as soon as Trump takes over in January?

Just seen the new GMB promo, all presenters singing the theme tune even Dr Hillary is involved, shame Charlotte is not in it,surely she more important than the doc.

I'm sure it will bring in shed loads of extra viewers...

In regards to Hillary V Charlotte, yes a bland headlines reader is more important that a doctor who has been part of ITV Breakfast for years.

what have they done with Charlotte? She seems to have been relegated to 'news reader' and doesn't feature in their promo - yet Sean, Hillary and Laura do?

She was recording the Celeb Juice Xmas special with Morgan yesterday evening. That possibly counts as promo work for GMB and earned her a day off? Decent rating for GMB on Tuesday of 700k.

No Morgan was in, no obvious reason for the bounce that I can think of. Frank Skinner was the main guest and the lead story was an 'investigation' into nurseries.

It's mentioned in an article in next week's Radio Times that whether Piers is present or not has no effect on the ratings which have not increased since he joined GMB.

Kate was also reading the news as well so they must have been short of people some how

There was a debate on another post about Susannah and Piers being on holiday with their kids. I think they went to the USA.
