You mean the other post started by you, you know the GMTV post (hook and bait) that everyone is having a good laugh at p.s. I think Piers and Susanna must had this week off to prepare for the imminent arrival of their first child together which will no doubt be called Donald even if it is a girl.

Eric Bristow has tweeted that he is on the programme tomorrow presumably to defend the controversial comments he made recently regarding the child abuse suffered by footballers at Crewe and other clubs.
How much of an opportunity Bristow will get to defend his (disgusting) comments & perhaps put them into context is however very debatable. I imagine Morgan will be sensing a headline grabbing opportunity to tear Bristow a new bumhole. Bristow is not that bright intellectually speaking & it could be very easy pickings for Morgan.

Considering Bristow has now been sacked by Sky for his remarks it could a very short interview

He'd have been better keeping his gob shut than the car crash interview he's now participating in and failing miserably to spin it as him trying to give advice to kids.

There was only ever going to be one winner here. Bristow made himself look stupid (although he eventually apologised, sort of) whilst Piers and Susanna will no doubt get all the online tabloid inches that they would have been hoping for.

It was an absolute car crash for Eric. It was almost like Eric was a politician who just repeated and repeated the same line over and over and spoke as if no one else was speaking.

The tabloids hate Morgan and will give him as little publicity as possible, I doubt the interview will even be mentioned tomorrow

Tomorrow? online tabloid news is virtually instant. The tabloids may or may not like Morgan but they certainly like clicks.

The BBC are claiming they refused to interview Bristow because he was demanding a £5000 fee. Presumably GMB must have made a commercial rather than a moralistic decision and thought that the fee was a worthwhile 'investment' for the publicity it would generate.

Having just watched the Morgan/Bristow interview, I have one question.

Does Morgan always conduct his interviews on the show in as adversarial and aggressive a manner as that or was he just giving Bristow an extra-vociferous grilling in light of the subject matter?

I’d typically describe Morgan’s interviewing style as aggressive. Exactly how aggressive depends on the subject matter.
Admittedly (and maybe understandably) this was one of his most aggressive for a while – not that Bristow did himself any favours either.
I actually think Bristow would have been better off not doing the appearance at all – personally I think he just continued to dig himself into a deeper hole!

Which is odd because in his "lifestories" shows all he does is stroke celebs egos, and pander to their attention seeking.

At least Morgan is a relief from the undisguised sycophancy of Richard Arnold,Ross King, Kate Garraway, Ben Shephard and a few others not to mention Lorraine Kelly and Fiona Phillips on the 0830 show. When it was GMTV Tony Blair used to say it was his favourite TV station because he got such an easy ride.No surprise their then political editor became a Labour MP.

Taking 5 grand for an interview, (so making a profit out of the victims misery) is pretty reprehensible. Bristow acting like a cave man and not understanding why victims would not report it meant, for once, Morgan was fully justified.

I wish when the BBC cover the story they would mention Bristow wanted 5k for an interview, and they (BBC) refused.

I would say GMB are also far from blameless for paying Bristow. They to have profited through the publicity/tabloid coverage that the interview generated. From a commercial point of the view the £5k was a no brainer but I think there was a bigger moral dilemma at play here and the BBC took the right line by refusing to pay.

Morgan has been on Twitter retweeting all the Tabloid links that are running Bristow/GMB stories. He is literally milking every last drop of publicity out of this interview. I would say GMB have had at least a ten times return on the £5k fee they paid him because just about every tabloid has run with it online.

N.B. when asked for a quote by the BBC, Good Morning Britain said it didn't comment on guest fees/contracts

Do we know for sure that GMB paid Bristow or is it just an assumption ? The BBC don't pay for news-related interviews in any case.If you want to see victims' misery then the Victoria Derbyshire show on BBC2/BBC News is the place for you.

His manager asked for a £5,000 fee for Bristow to appear on the BBC to discuss his comments. GMB said it didn't disclose guest contracts - and Bristow later said any money received would be donated to charity.

Had to go all the way to page 8 to retrieve this thread.
Is GMB really that irrelevant?

Amused me this morning how as soon as Alex Salmond mentioned a tweet by Trump concerning the Xmas market attack and that he disagreed with the sentiment that Piers was straight in there defending his buddy Donald.
What a slimy brown nose!

This thread has been dying for a while, a lack of ratings doesn't help.

I get the feeling Morgans position on Trump (and probably anyone else) starts from "Whats in this this for me or what could be in this for me". He will make controversial comments about famous actors and singers that he knows will generate clicks on his DM column, drive Twitter traffic and get him publicity. I suspect he also takes that attitude into GMB trying to be deliberately controversial at times. Some people like it some people hate it. I used to like it but it is wearing thin on me these days.

Susanna Reid seems more than happy to hang on the coat tails of the extra publicity that Morgan brings. She is always tweeting, retweeting anything Morgan says or tweeting links to tabloid stories about her and Morgan.

Were Piers and Susanna only on today because off the market attack because they were off yesterday.
