I agree. I always felt Ben was out of his depth presenting GMTV, he was ok doing Entertainment Today because he was suited to that type of programme, but to then be interviewing prime ministers etc, he never looked comfortable. He could learn a heck of a lot from John Stapleton. And it's a shame there's no place for Helen Fospero who would of been a much better bet than Susannah. Interestingly, watching John present, it almost looked like he was wondering what on earth he was presenting

I wonder how long before ITV move SR out the way give the better presenters the job, thet can't keep this car crash of a overpaid and not very good at her job presenter in the position of the face of Good Morning if they want it to survive.

They would lose face and have to admit that they screwed up.

Is Reid really as bad as you're making out?

I'm almost tempted to watch but I'd be disappointed with anything less than car crash to be honest.

She's not bad, but not great. Same as she was on BBC Breakfast.

The presenters aren't the point, though.

The viewers have rejected it because of the content, which is crap.

Yeah agree, they keep on saying it's going to be more newsy. But as has been said, they'll talk about a serious news story then go into a light hearted one straight after or go to the silly wheel of cash. At the top of the hour they should be reading the main headlines not having inane chats amongst themselves then asking viewers to text in their opinions of something daft.

LOL Graham Norton hosting the baftas says "All the viewers have left GMB" then camera pans to Susannah poor love!

She laughed it off though. The audience going "Awwwwww" then Norton barking, "If you CARED, you'd WATCH IT!" was hilarious. Susannah did well to not react badly.

Well you know what they say, all publicity is good publicity!

About three years after everyone else came to the same conclusion.

Has there ever been a show before that basically starts a brand new show but keeps pretty much all the presenters from the axed show to cover the presenters on the new one?

Utterly bizarre.

And don't forget at the time he claimed credit for signing Chiles and Bleakley but has been quiet about Reid.

The problem is a lot of the back room staff have remained the same from the GMTV days. Some have gone when GMB launched, but some have come and gone and come again.

I think with the launch of GMB they didn't want the same 'disaster' when ITV tried to erase GMTV history. There was a better transition this time. That said, I have always said hiring Susanna will be a mistake, and would not work. I don't dislike her, i dislike the attention that comes with her. Its the same as with Bleakley and you'd have thought ITV would have learnt their lesson.

Looking back, i enjoyed Aled on Daybreak. I'd have kept him as one of the four presenters. Would certainly work better than Sean Fletcher who seems lost at times and forcing himself to smile. It was actually lovely to see Kate Garraway back. Love or hate her, she does have something natural about her which works.

This shows that there are two distinct opinions here.

Some say why have they kept all the GMTV cast offs, and that they should have been axed

Others say that they should have kept more GMTV/Daybreak presenters rather than bringing in new ones.

Some want more news and less showbiz, others want the desk removing and the new format axing and a return to a GMTV style two presenters on a sofa.

Shows they can't win either way.

Yes, it's really odd isn't it? Everyone has conflicting opinions on GMB, yet no-one ever, ever disagrees about the presentation or content of any other TV shows.

I laughed at what Graham Norton said last night at the BAFTAs when he singled out various shows and then said "and nobody is watching Good Morning Britain." Susannahs face was a picture as the camera went to her.

Have just switched TV on which was still on ITV from last night and just seen the tangoed fright that is Susannah. She is beating Tina from Corrie hands down now .... And David Dickinson.

Watching for the first time since the launch. Oh my goodness it's so frenetic. Story, story, story, story, with no suggestion that the previous one has finished. In a lot of the reports, the names of the people being interviewed don't come up on screen.

Susanna Reid is shown for the amateur she is, when she was caught off guard.

The graphics all look incredibly fake, and why do they show the ITV Building (albeit a computer representation) as it's one of the ugliest buildings in London.

To give this show any credibility, they should have got rid of any links to Daybreak, such as Richard Arnold and Laura Tobin. If I'd been flicking channels, I would've just thought it was the same show. Also it's a bit sexist to have the two women 'interviewing' Richard Arnold.

It's such an awful show.

Every time I watch it, one of the presenters says something embarrassing. Today it was Susanna Reid's bizarre outburst about people sucking their thumbs.

I also thought it was very insensitive for them to switch straight from a news report about the four lost UK sailors almost certainly being dead to some joke about football - no slight pause, no serious faces, just big grins and inane comments.

I did not really know Susanna Reid before, but I am really growing to wonder how she gets presenting jobs. When she's being serious she looks like she's getting ready to bite someone's head off, and at other times she looks totally bewildered (like the time that money saving expert guy was talking about ISAs). Can't they find anyone better?

However, she is not as bad as that bloke they recruited for Daybreak straight off some tennis court.

She has the largest repertoire of gurns of any presenter currently on telly. But, similar to Eric Morecambe, she finds it impossible to match the right gurn with the right story.

I really don't get how she got the job in the first place, she being backed as '20 years in the business' but as far as i can tell she never set the world of presenting alight for most of those years, until she got noticed on Come Dancing, and now as the main face of Good Morning, she so far out of her depth, and just can't hack it.

I still think Strictly has a lot to blame for all of this! Susannah entered the dancing competition, did very well, then got her ego massaged, she thought she was better than she was and got the idea that she was too good for Breakfast. Daybreak was suffering, the powers that be wowed her inflated ego and then pounced. I'd almost compare it to when Angela Rippon appeared on the Morecame & Wise Christmas show, reading the news and then amazing us with her dance routine. At the end of the day I want to see Newreaders read the news and dancers dance.

Or the programme could be improved. I guess, as far as ITV is concerned, that IS rocket science.
