Oh dear, it would seem our man is getting a bit of a bashing in the Daily hate Mail's comment section today, especially when viewing all in the 'worst' tab.

Red arrow the nay-sayers, I say!

The Daily Heil comments section is hilarious. Just hate filled window lickers with nothing positive to say, no matter what the topic

Awesome Capaldi performance tonight.

Somebody actually called that "the worst acting." Astonishing. Humans - I'll never get the hang of them.

He's good as always but can't help what he has been given.

It's worth remembering that forming an opinion is the easy part. And then voicing it? It's never been easier. But giving that opinion substance or validity or a reason to be listened to? Not so easy. I doubt Capaldi will lose any sleep over the acting critique of an adult who struggles to even form the most basic of grammatically correct sentences (I'm referring to the post of which you speak btw! not you CD93...i know you know that but just clarifying to avoid any confusion).

Disrespectful? No .My opinion!

His best performance in the role so far.

That is all.

That rant tonight was his character defining moment. It should have happened last year

To be fair, the fact that clicking on 'worst' and seeing all the negative comments is a good thing. It implies that someone is spewing some kind of hatred towards the show or Capaldi, but there's an overwhelming sense of opinion to the contrary.

Admittedly in this case the 'best' comments are hardly gleaming, but the Daily Mail is also full of nonsensical and moronic posters. One of the most popular comments comes from someone who insists Capaldi is unlikeable, and that Tennant and Smith each made the role their own - before confessing that they've not watched since Capaldi joined. And that's one of the best comments!

I wouldn't use it as a credible measure of anyone's quality. I don't mean to sound high and mighty (that's definitely not me) and there's exceptions to the rule, but the majority of people who seem to post there...they just don't have the first clue about anything much really.

Wow. For me there has been a moment with every Doctor where I've thought I hope this guy never leaves as I can't imagine any other actor being this good in the role. It's been a long time coming but that was the moment with Capaldi for me this evening.

Simply blown away by Capaldi's acting. I hope he wins awards for that scene.

That was one of the best performances I can remember in show tonight. So passionate and so powerful.

And I thought the Doctor/Davros standoff 'chat' was brilliant, tonight's (Zygon II) left that behind by a country mile.

I feel that I've seen enough of him now to make an opinion.

I think he's the best Doctor since it came back in 2005.

I think he's an improvement over David Tennant and Matt Smith because although they had their moments, the wacky shtick they both had seemed to be aimed at small children for silly comedy kicks.
With Capaldi I think he's more plausible as a character I can believe in.
I also rate Chris Eccelston highly, but I'd probably put Capaldi above him as well.

His comedy isn't laid on with a trowel. He's funny in an effortless way in which he often has many funny throwaway lines which suits my sense of humour more.
He also has the gravitas which is necessary for the serious moments too.

There's nothing I'd fault him for. Except for the stupid sunglasses. That's the only negative I have with this Doctor, but that has nothing to do with Peter Capaldi.
Moffat, ditch those sunglasses. They were a stupid idea, just admit it.

Peter Capaldi could well end up being the best Doctor ever, if he isn't already.

Capaldi has brilliance so long as they dont keep trying to make him act like Matt Smith. he needs to be new, his own reincarnation.

I always knew Capaldi was a great actor, but he was outstanding last night. Mesmerising performance.

He is amazing and he is "The Doctor" in my book. He was always going to have a rough time with some fans being older and not as pretty as his last 2 predessors.Sadly that how TV is and film is these days its all about "abs" and if you knocking 40 you should be shot in the head. Incidentally I never understand when people say he's acting like Matt or David....they are still part of his doctor...they are the same person.

I'm glad to see he was on par again tonight. Absolutely fantastic.

I'm also glad to see his white shirt return over that horrid hoody he's worn for the most of this series.
