Tolerate more than like. They don't really present together on the show, they do separate things.
I have and they are rubbish. Competent presenters rather than competent & entertaining presenters. |

Ah yes... forgot about the radio show. If Norton does get the Strictly gig, something will have to give elsewhere - no autumn run for his Friday chat show and no Radio 2 show, presumably. Michael McIntyre chat show on Friday nights on BBC One in the autumn? Oh dear.

His chat show is recorded midweek so not an issue and the Radio2 show could be moved to say Sundays or be pre recorded like Jonathan Ross.

I believe that outside the semis & final, the highest rated shows last year were those presented by Tess & Claudia when Bruce had his weeks off.

http://www.sroaudiences.com/applicat...p?show_id=1032. Anyway, regardless as to whether he would have the time (or the BBC could find the time) for him to host SCD, the big unanswered question is whether he would want to do so in addition to his other work, He might not want to, preferring one or the other. Which would then present the BBC with another problem of course, |

BGT about where I expected. Relatively nice day (here in Yorkshire at least), holiday weekend but still a really good showing.

There are so many combinations here from which to concoct a number of conspiracy theories:
JC writes for The Sun, a direct rival to the Mirror JC if a close friend of Cameron, the Mirror is a Labour-supporting paper Piers Morgan used to be the editor of the Mirror Piers Morgan & JC have a long-running dispute between them JC is a supporter of the Conservatives, supported/admired Thatcher One for the existing BBC conspiracy theorists - the BBC is supposedly a Labour-loving, left wing organisation. Leveson and this Government vs. the papers Why has no section of the media asked how the BBC clip ended up in the hands of the Mirror, what did the Mirror pay for something that was probably obtained or offered illegally, and who within the BBC would have had access to such archive cutting-toom floor material? So many options here - manna from heaven for a conspiracy theorist ![]()

Didn't the BBC give Tess a National Lottery gameshow to front in 2008? It was called "This Time Tomorrow" and based around holidays as prizes. It was awful, bland fare that lasted a few weeks and, thankfully, did not return - started with about 5m and dipped to 3-4m by the end of its run. I'm sure the BBC were hoping for better things, given Tess' success on Strictly, but she came across badly on that show - just pure autocue reading blandness.
Tess has had to carry Bruce the last few years so as long as they don't try and make her something she isn't she'll be fine. The humour doesn't come from forced one liners anyway - it comes from interactions with the judges and contestants and is generally much funnier when it's natural rather than scripted anyway. |

Is it wrong to say that actually, I rather enjoy The Guess List! It is a fun, simple format that I think works. Incredible that a show that is new that goes out just before 10pm gets more ratings than a new high profile LE format at 6.30pm!

But they also gave Graham Norton "Totally Saturday", so both have history of poor Saturday night shows.
Tess has had to carry Bruce the last few years so as long as they don't try and make her something she isn't she'll be fine. The humour doesn't come from forced one liners anyway - it comes from interactions with the judges and contestants and is generally much funnier when it's natural rather than scripted anyway. But your points about SCD and the humour are spot on. It is primarily a warm, friendly show. Tess and Claudia will maintain that element perfectly. Claudia will do the humour with her quirky style (which I like) and Tess will do the main presenting which she is perfectly capable of. Len will still be there with his off the cuff comments so the very elements of what makes the show popular will still be there. And, if Claudia has landed the role, bravo to the BBC for finally realising that having two women front a massive show is just as good (if not better) as a male/female line up. |

I liked the Guess List right from the off at least there is some laughs. A bit disappointed with its ratings really - would like to see it more like 4m.
BGT still pulling in the punters, is there any hint of a decline? Not really! ITV will be pleased. |

I hope it has got enough ratings to get a new series next year. It could be potential grower over a couple of years. Whilst BBC1's schedule is not setting the world alight on Saturdays against BGT, it is at least remaining to be consistent with its 3.5m - 4m offerings. It's a bland schedule, but it seems to be working.

ITV have though completetly failed to put a supporting schedule around BGT. If the BBC schedule minus IITWI were running around BGT Pointless would be 4.5m Casualty 5.5m and even The Guess List would benefit. ITV at the moment seem to be one big show in a sea of dross - dont know why because they used to have big nights based around their big hitters where has it gone wrong?
