Newsnight managed 0.82m (6.5%) against ITV's
On Assignment with 0.99m (7.65%) - not tape-checked and including +1. I can't remember what was in the news but that can play a part. I agree that the bad lead-in and
Question Time competition were major factors here.

But shares for the soaps should hold up or increase - that has historically been the case given that soaps are supposed to be the most addictive form of television.
