Somewhat strangely since the advent of GMB, BBC Breakfast's audience seems to have gone up - wonder where they're coming from ?

The Paul O'Grady Show has been hugely disappointing this series. Just not gaining any traction whatsoever. It started low, and it's staying low. Surely its days are numbered at 5PM.

I think GMB has found its level at around 600k. The only thing that would bring in more viewers would be to strip down the presenting team - and I mean actually strip them.

Eastenders down 2% from last Thursday, and unfortunately the next couple of weeks are really going to kill the bounce that it has received. The funeral episode is now on for an hour and out of its slot, and the ratings giant of BGT plus soap block will put more pressure on Eastenders. I think that the BBC should keep Eastenders at 7.30pm for the whole week of BGT. It does move two episodes out of slot but I am sure that last year, the clash with BGT didn't affect them too much with the 7.30 start time

As we head to the summer ratings will dip. The best that can be done is holding up well against BGT/World Cup ect. There is a twist to the story at the end of the summer so should see viewers returning for the start of the cold and darker months and leading to Xmas. Tbh there is not really another long term story running other than Carols Cancer plot. There is however huge storylines for The Carters,Phil and Sharon,Dot,Patrick coming soon.

Lucy's funeral week will be promoted i think it's obvious as to why the BBC made changes to Tuesday so EastEnders had an hour episode that was a non clash one.

There was a hint of cleavage this morning. I bet she didn`t even have to be asked.......

With the summer ahead, could we see consumer news stories in relation to beach ware, with the presenters trying on the various "best buys"

Emmerdale is not a surprise tbh...Val'S HIV plot is a joke. It dosent seem as if they are playing the storyline for the serious issue it is. Mondays episode saw a 'Fight' That looked like Harry Hill had made up for TV Burp complete with Bread and Rolls chucking.

Other then that storyline not much of a note happening at Present.

Last Year EastEnders ran Tues to Fri at 7:30
I think the same will happen this time. It held up well and starting head to head with BGT makes better sense.

Last year is was getting around 2m-2.5m each day, but that was in Autumn. I imagine it look worse given the high rating Pointless. I think they should keep it, but move him to 3pm. So a line-up of

3pm Paul O' Grady
4pm Tipping Point
5pm The Chase


On the other hand is Ejector Seat doing enough for a recommission? Should it be moved to 1pm for a early afternoon quiz?

Sounds like it....Thing is sure she is (Was) Popular but BBC breakfast is bigger. It's the format people like. That was so obvious. Clearly ITV had their heads in the clouds once again.

Excellent rating for Master chef, not a lot between that and Emmerdale.

I would say no to Ejector Seat being recommissioned, the shares are not good enough so in an earlier slot the raw figure would look even worse.

The share is not too dissimilar to POG though. Part of a stronger schedule it might do better. And IIRC Tipping Point was not a hit out of the blocks so it can be worth persevering.

For these reasons I would say it's worth another shot but probably 50/50 for a recommission.

They'll need to do sex shows to bring up GMB's ratings.....and some people still wouldn't watch due to the commercials!

GMB's level can't stay at around 600k. Those are Daybreak's numbers. It has to rate better due to the investment.

It was cooler over much of the country yesterday than on Tuesday. I expected EastEnders to have over 35% share.

Wasn't too bad here yesterday. We had some drizzle at times across the day but then the sun decided to come out about 5 o clock.Tuesday here we had more rain but that's pretty much like most of the time in this country. It's sunny here today but rain forecast in the North with the weekend being worse off in the south and south west.

As a comparison, on Wednesday of last week Newsnight managed 0.82m (6.5%) against ITV's On Assignment with 0.99m (7.65%) - not tape-checked and including +1. I can't remember what was in the news but that can play a part. I agree that the bad lead-in and Question Time competition were major factors here.


But shares for the soaps should hold up or increase - that has historically been the case given that soaps are supposed to be the most addictive form of television.


Remember that cooler weather = more people watching TV = lower shares for any given audience.

All that waiting and what we get is 600k which is exactly where we started with Daybroke.

660k (3.1%) for the Eurovision semi final, down on the semi final with Ireland last year which had 820k (3.8%)

I understand why EE wanted to avoid the clash but on this occasion with ED quite weak I think they could have clashed and won.

This is why Good Morning Britain MUST grow its audience. To spend all of that money just to continue with the same ratings Daybreak got would be a huge embarrassment.


If I did would it make Wheel Of Cash watchable?
