BGT got 8.3m on ITV and a massive 1 million on +1. Just shows how dreadful the slot is and the damage it's doing. Wonder what the timeshift will be like.

The whole point of the schedule was to give another Itv show a leg up. Itv need to find new hits, they cant do that as well by having BGT at 8pm. Thank God Amazing Greys flopped though, the BBC are probably celebrating that they won the ratings from 8.20pm onwards!

ITV have given BGT around 4 showing, 8 inc +1 for viewers to catch up.”
But plus 1 viewers don't count, not even 1m of them! (We really need a rolls eye smiley!!)

They can still find new hits with BGT on later. Look at Through The Keyhole. If anything they could do with more Saturday 9pm shows anyway.

Strip out the repeat and Greys mustve had 3.3m viewers. That is a terrible retention. It's interesting to see how Itv viewers completely abandon the channel after a big lead-in. This doesnt happen on BBC1 when they have a big lead-in like from SCD or CTM.

The advert break between shows doesn't help. Perfect opportunity for viewers to jump ship. Whereas BBC1 only run a couple of trailers normally.
Based on that rating for Amazing Grey's, they need to put BGT at 7.30pm/8pm and shift AG before it. The idiots at ITV always seem to give there big shows a small lead in and small lead out. Could you make it any more difficult.

You cant blame Itv for trying to launch a new show in a easy slot. But even in such an easy slot with a lead-in of over 10million, they still make a mess of it. All they would've needed would've been a half-decent show and Im sure over 4m would've stayed. But they cant even come up with a half-decent show to retain 50% of the BGT audience. Some BBC bosses must be laughing their heads off at how badly Itv have exposed their post 8.20pm schedule due to the failure of Greys and also airing a Law and Order repeat in prime time.

Pointless seemed to do a good job holding back BGT's audience. Im sure it held up above 16% which means job done. BGT's share excluding +1 should've been higher than 40%.

I've always wondered why ITV do that, surely it makes sense to not run a break between a big show and a new hope so the lead in doesn't vanish and so they stick with the first 10 mins of whatever follows, if its good then it may give a boost?
