Grim but brilliant IMO.
You big pessimist you!

Thanks!
So I gave up watching the whole thing (BBC scarred me with Jenny Faulkener's Spooks S1 E2 head-in-chip-fat death!) but am shocked and impressed at its appeal and acclaim especially in the Tues 9pm slot for a first-run series. I feel like I'm missing out on this year's 'Broadchurch' but I'm just such a wimp sometimes.
But out of intrigue, I'd like to read about the levels of violence/gritty depiction, as well as if the violence/gore is justified/excused by the viewer due to the overall high quality of the show? if only for my own research — it's actually very interesting to think what effect these shows have on some people psychologically. Not in a bad way, just in ... a way. If that makes sense.
