Did that happen `cos Cruise was on the sodden red carpet at 7am-ish onwards according to Sky who talked to him @7.40. Would`ve thought ITV would have had to do a pre-record as well unless their studios are right next door.

New Dramas that should/could* air on BBC One this year:
Common - 90 minute Jimmy McGovern drama that has been ready for awhile.
Esio Trot - Roald Dahl adaptation with Judi Dench and Dustin Hoffman, due at Christmas.
In The Club - Kay Mellor's latest drama
Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell
Our Zoo - About creation of Chester Zoo
Remember Me - Care home mystery, can see this airing against I'm a Celeb like Crickley Hall did.
The Casual Vacancy - Filming only starts in June so may not air this year.
The Driver - Danny Brocklehurst drama starring David Morrissey as a taxi driver
The Game - I'm pretty sure this actually started filming last year, so should have been ready for Spring. (This said filming began in August.)
The Interceptor - see ChrisE's post
The Missing - again see ChrisE's post
The Passing Bells - 5 part stripped war 30 minute drama, should air in November, I think.
The Secrets - 5 part 30 minute series showcasing new drama writers, can see this getting a post-news slot.

*I've only including ones that have been filmed, are being filmed, filming soon, or ones that the BBC have actually said will air this year.

A lot of their more interesting commissions, such as Poldark, Mapp and Lucia and the Agatha Christie adaptations aren't due until next year.”

Thanks for that list. I knew there were a lot more that I could not remember.

I'm not sure. I assumed he was going to be in the studio the way GMB were promoting it. Cruise and Blunt were on BBC Breakfast first though.

Itv will be the ones who need to be very careful how to schedule their shows. Because the BBC will have plenty of strong stuff coming up.”

The Great British Bake off and new Tricks and XFacrtor from these lists and other shows are included in the new TV Times Summer Preview Special so no doubt they all start in August.

UK TV Ratings ‏@TVRatingsUK 12s
#CoronationStreet was last night's most watched with 8.67m/35.1%. The second #BGT semi-final drew 8.24m/36.8% (down 1.34m on Monday).

Can we please avoid unpleasantness and tiresome my channel is better than your channel debates?

Disappointing for BGT. It should have been higher than that. It wasn't a good show but viewers weren't to know that until they tuned in.

Corrie held up very well against Happy Valley though.

ITV have Long Lost Family too. Also X Factor, Downton and I'm A Celeb are shows capable of 10m several times during a series. What show on BBC1 can do that apart from Strictly?”

Long Lost Family is also included as summer according to the TV Times along with Love Your Garden, Celebrity Masterchef, Celebrity Squares, All Star Mr and Mrs, The Honourable Woman and a celebrity version of the Jeremy Kyle Show ()

what the TV Times definition of summer is is anybody's guess.

Solid for Corrie bang on my expectation! Looking forward to seeing +1s and Happy Valley!

With the "old" being...? I like calling him Samual though, like he writes "Itv" and "Coro" and "EmFarm" haha!

Coronation Street beats Britain's Got Talent despite tougher opposition (for an hour at least) - the latter will probably be under 8m without +1. Maybe this will get them to pull their finger out, stop stacking semi-finals and put quality before Simon Cowell's bank balance. The show could be so much better than it is. Tonight should see a recovery without EastEnders in opposition but still...

I'm sure Samuel will be quick to confirm this but is that the lowest rating semi-final under the current format?

I love the fact spoilers are kept short and even Friday's spoilers are very brief.
That's how soap should be imo.

Could see a up lift on BBC3 perhaps.”

May I ask why you spreading spoilers all over the place if I didn't know better i'd accuse you of being a producer of Corrie who wouldn't know how to keep a secret if their lives depended on it.

Do you wonder if Itv will be disappointed by Tina exit. Not a great deal more than Lucy's death in Eastenders despite the huge and lengthy publicity and the fact Tina is well known and Michelle Keagan is quite famous.

#HappyValley lost out to #Corrie and #BGT results show this week, but still watched by 5.3m/22.2% http://t.co/Gu75jKfL7Z

#BGT 2nd semi-final drew 7.8m/35% from 7.30pm on ITV, + extra 413k/1.7% from 8.30pm on ITV+1 http://t.co/Gu75jKfL7Z

From overnights.TV

Great for Happy Valley and Corrie, relatively poor for BGT

He wasn't in studio.GMB had the same set up as Sky, Susanna Reid interviewed him on the red carpet for 5 minutes at 7.55. Of course she had to get a selfie

That is actually pretty good for Happy Valley - I am surprised, given the context last night.

That's great for HV considering it was up against a big episode of Corri.

I wonder if a lot of people watched Coronation Street then switched to Happy Valley at 9.30, watching on delay? I have the feeling the BGT Results could be below 7m.

BGT might be low compared to other series but it still was ahead of the competition and gave ITV a Tuesday win.

I watched Happy Valley liveish, Corrie recorded for after to zip through the ads and didn't bother with the results as they were posted on Facebook straight after so other than watching the celeb performance there was little point. I can't be the only one.

A red carpet interview? And GMB plugged that last night? That's rubbish. It's the sort of thing Richard Arnold should be doing.

BBC Breakfast had a proper sit down interview rather than a rush job on the red carpet. Assumed GMB were doing that too.

"@LiamHamiltonDCD: ITV combo of #bgt - 8.2m & 6.8m for results - & #Corrie 8.2m wins peak. 5.4m for #EastEnders BBC1's best effort, 5.3m for #HappyValley"
