Yep. And for all of those reasons I think EastEnders will be down. Would have loved to have seen it get 8m across a week.

BBC needs to extend the second series of Parking Mad to around 6-8 episodes. 4million+ yet again is strong for a cheap factual show.

Hard hitting BBC3 documentary Free Speech achieved 40,000 viewers, a vital public service broadcast which educated its viewers.

Hope tonight doesn't let the week down. Friday's are notoriously low days for EastEnders. It would be great if they could have a full week of episodes going over 8 million in the officials. Last time that happened must have been 2010/2011.

As long as Paul O' Grady can get around 2m-2.5m inc+1 at 5pm then he should still hold around 20% share. Hopefully Ejector Seat is good format and doesn't flop when it arrives |

7.5m (37.4%) for EastEnders.
Shame it lost so much from Tuesday but the share is still fantastic. |

Utterly dreadful for Emmerdale, both under 6m!
Makes EE 7.5m look great even with the big drop from Tuesday. |

EastEnders continued to perform well on Thursday evening (April 24) as the Beale family grieved for Lucy, overnight figures show.
The Walford soap pulled in 7.5m (37.4%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as the police began to question Lucy's loved ones in a special episode set almost entirely inside the Beale house. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 440k (3.1%) at 10.30pm. The Lucy storyline continued to boost EastEnders as the show had its best Thursday rating since February 6 and its second-highest audience share of the year. Elsewhere, Emmerdale appealed to 5.85m (32.6%) at 7pm on ITV and 133k (0.6%) on +1 as Cain gave Belle one last ultimatum before her court hearing. 5.74m (26.4%) returned at 8pm and 167k (0.8%) on +1 as Belle pleaded not guilty to Gemma's murder Hollyoaks interested 972k (5.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Tegan was arrested for Fraser's murder, while E4's first look followed with 717k (4.0%) at 7pm. Neighbours secured 637k (10.9%) at 1.45pm and 752k (6.0%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s repeat had 140k (0.9%) at 6pm. Home and Away mustered 260k (4.2%) at 1.15pm, 507k (3.4%) at 6pm and 321k (1.9%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm. |

The share for EE tells me that had this aired in the Autumn they could have hit peaks of 10 million.
That bodes well for the show as we go forward. |
