Up thread, Pizzatheaction is absolutely correct. Friday's timeshift is being added to the omnibus rating. I don't think it is all of it being added, but definitely something is not right.

Friday 4th April for the omnibus...
- 23:55 - 545k
- 00:20 - 490k
- 00:50 - 621k
- 01:20 - 856k

Friday 11th April for the omnibus...
- 23:55 - 375k
- 00:25 - 392k
- 00:50 - 446k
- 01:20 - 639k

Friday 18th April for the omnibus...
- 23:40 - 534k
- 00:05 - 589k
- 00:35 - 635k
- 01:00 - 1.17m

Another thought is that it could be some of the BBC Three timeshift being dumped in with the BBC One number possibly.

If trickytree1979 still lurks around these parts, it'd be interesting to know if my theory is correct. If it is, one wonders why BBC hasn't complained to BARB about it.

There again, they could simply resolve it themselves by moving the omnibus to a wiser slot....”

Damn that's very interesting and something I hadn't spotted.

EE fans need to start a campaign to get the omnibus back on a Sunday Afternoon.

I thought the BBC put an inaudible code into different showings of programmes, so that PVR/on demand playback was added to the appropriate showing. (BARB uses audio matching technology, and so without that inaudible code the viewing would be added to the most recent linear showing, in this case the Friday omnibus - for EE viewings over the weekend, say).

It appears the BBC are not doing this with EastEnders for some reason. It does have the advantage of boosting the official Friday omnibus figures and (on the face of it) justifying that move, but obviously at the expense of the main showing.

Fantastic rating for Casualty, one of its best ratings for an episode airing on a BGT night in many years. Any word on how Amazing greys rated?

It wasn't on against BGT so why is the fact it was a BGT night significant?

My guess is that Greys did badly. No idea why they're sticking with the current scheduling (although shifting 15 minutes later next week).

Great rating for BGT, should start at 8pm. And if a programme is good it will get ratings at 8pm, The X Factor used it as an excuse.

While all that may be true the result is the BARB figures for the 2 programs are wrong and this should be addressed.

Hardly trash TV is it - you may not like it but it's one of the most expensive entertainment shows on TV and the production values are outstanding.

Everybody's definition differs but my idea of trash TV is the endless repeats of Escape to the Country and Bargain Hunt eating up more and more of the schedule, plus the likes of Columbo and Murder She Wrote on ITV - and when it comes to new shows Let Me Entertain You looked the very definition of cheap TV from the trailer - certainly not something for 6pm on Saturday nights.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/n...al-market.html

And good to see ITV acknowledging they need 13 part dramas, not 3 parters. Always a fine balance but you look at a drama like Prey and though there is always the danger of it dragging on and on from the premise of it you could see that it could easily sustain a longer series.

P.S. Samuel's deleted post earlier shows why so many of us have issues with him. If he wanted to be he could be a great contributer to this thread - but when he deletes facts or doesn't quote sources because they don't suit his pro-BBC agenda it's just quite pathetic really.

The figures are right as per BARB's default rules regarding adding viewers to the most recent linear showing. The BBC need to add the inaudible code to over-ride them, as I understood was their practice. I agree they should do so, to apply a common-sense approach.

So the figures are right by the rules but not actually correct - sounds like a major cop out to me.
If someone has recorded the half hour friday episode and someone else has recorded the 2 hr omnibus its obvious which episode should get the relevant timeshift .

Not really. Any 'outstanding' production values on BGT are a hangover from X Factor if you ask me..it really isn't that amazing standing alone. It'll be expensive due to Cowell and Ant & Dec pay most largely I'd say.

CRUMBS !

You have to feel a bit sorry for ITV, they've stuck by this one through thick and thin. But it's hard to imagine a more dismal return for their efforts.

However the main audience puller of the evening did its job; and clearly that's much more important. But I still let out a little gasp at The Americans rating.

The ITV audience probably turn their noses up at a half decent offering such as The Americans...it was always doomed to fail

It will be interesting to see how BGT rates when it starts in NZ on Tuesday (at 8.30pm their time), seeing the local and Australian version rated very well there.

Great rating for BGT last night - even though it was another poor show.

From that, 7.30pm would be a much better start time.

Good to see BGMT not suffering from the same curse as The Xtra Factor and The Voice:Louder

8 would be easier for people to remember (may seem silly, but that's Joe Public for you). Don't think it'd affect the post BGT programming much either.

It's remained the same that's why, not least the presenter. BGMT is an immature companion to a talent show, Xtra is an immature kids show to a talent show.
