It's just over a year since ITV shortened the CITV simulcast by an hour at the weekends. It seems they shouldn't have bothered.

Any chance I can make a request for how that new Saturday morning show on channel four done yestaday.

It's nice to see you try to explain yourself, but it doesn't change or negate a single thing Dancc said. No one has a problem with the statistics of your posts, it is the way in which you present them, word them and spin them (even the very post I'm quoting is spin, only about yourself this time) so relentlessly and full of obsession and sheer glee at a channel's failings that people cannot abide. There is no lightweight banter in this, not simply a person's preference or bias of which pretty much everyone has on here, some more subtly than others. It's trollish, terrible, unpleasant posting that is frankly borderline weird. You can see it how you like, but that's the reality. You need to tone things down. Massively. Then maybe, like with RobbieSykes, people will tolerate you - but I suspect you don't want or care about that anyway so it's all pointless unless you're actually banned.

So apparently we keep being told that there are many people the same as/worse than Samuel in this thread.

It's quite obvious that GMB is now his latest obsession and we aren't going to get any meaningful debate as he replies in an overbearing manner whenever anyone mentions it.

Thing is, although most of us could have guessed Amazing Greys would tank, ITV still tried to support it and hoped BGT would give it a boost. It hasn't worked, but they tried. Just a bad show is all.

I'm far more concerned for X Factor which was left to flounder last year with a limp Chase lead-in although admittedly Through The Keyhole worked better as lead out. Will they actually bother to help X Factor this year? It needs support either side since its ratings dropped, as unlike BTG so far it's prone to shedding viewers when left alone. Obviously the problems go deeper than that, but that's even more reason to help it out..

I think the only reason Amazing Greys is still there is because it's a Cowell show. Should be on earlier with BGT at 8pm. X Factor will get a boost from the return of Simon and Cheryl, however to boost ITV's whole night the programmes before and after it must be better.

I think ITV have made massive improvements in drama in recent years and reduced the amount of reality shows on the main network, but their entertainment and daytime schedule still has some tired, creaking shows that just don't rate any more. Apart from being cheap, is there any point to YBF and 23 year old clips of cats falling off walls? Also shows like TXF are getting old now and falling in the ratings and ITV will need to find a replacement eventually.

That massive rating at 8pm shows how much higher BGT would be starting at 8pm. It also shows what a huge switch off from ITV happens when it ends. The LOUK repeat rating is shocking. ITV's night is good based on one show but it could be great with several.

Itv cant afford to have several shows on Saturday nights. In 2010-2012, they used to have one new show before BGT, BGT at 8pm and then another new british show after BGT. Nowadays they have BGT at 7pm, so that they only need to air one other original british show after it. YBF and cheap clip shows dont count. It's a cost-cutting exercise having BGT airing at 7pm, in order to mean they only have one new show airing around it rather than two.

Perhaps, although they were under 1% share between 7.30am and 8am yesterday with cartoons or whatever it is they air there. On the plus side it was up 142% on the same slot last week.

But that's all a bit redundant when the numbers are still so dismal. This recent interest in weekend mornings surely won't last - obviously something Helen Warner has come in with a view to transforming but it's not reaping any rewards at the moment.


Amazing Greys is an ITV Studios show, originally devised by Eyeworks.

Paddy McGuiness was on Celebrity Juice this week and said Take Me Out was due back later in the year - although maybe he's just thinking of when it's filming. That probably makes more sense than Celebrity Chase did before X Factor. But something stronger would be ideal.

Some of the recent Harry Potter films have done OK business in teatime slots, but do itv have the catalogue to turn 6-8pm into a "family film" slot with some decent titles?

Of course the ideal outcome would be Harry Hill to return with TV Burp.
