You know what I always found strange? They used X factor as their launch pad and were very popular on the show but they've already had 3 albums out and they haven't performed once on the Results show ever. Is it because they aren't deemed as credible? I'm not a fan but do like their Eurovision songs Lipstick and Waterfall. That new song seems ok. I wish them the best though. Nice funny lads!

I think it's a good song! I've heard a lot worse in the UK top 10.

Yes they do have a credibility problem in the UK - they're stuck with the joke act label over here, although there music has always done very well in Ireland.

I don't think the UK public can be entirely blamed for how they perceive Jedward, the pair have often seemed to play up to the "annoying" tag in their TV appearances.

They really seem to have grown up and moved on now though (well most of the time anyway), and they are clearly very serious about their music. They just need to be given a chance and a bit of airplay by some of the bigger radio stations.

I like Jedward I always thought it was a bit unfair that, if One Direction had released the Young Love album, it would have sold millions of copies. It was a pretty much flawless album.

The new song is growing on me. I just hope this new album isn't too much of a departure from their last.

Agree kryskrys, if only independent Jedward had a smidgen of One Direction's marketing budget!

Why are they still bothering really? They were a novelty act, and the novelty has long since worn off for all but their weird middle aged stalkers.

They're popular in Asia, Canada, Australia and across Europe, they love music, they love performing, recording, and making their own music videos, and they've become multimillionaires, why should they stop because a few people in the UK don't get them?

Why havent they performed on a results show?

Well they aren't big enough any more. There Young Love album didn't do very well. But i think they deserved a performance around the Lipstick era or first album time.

Why didn't they get a slot back then? They're with Universal simple as.

That's why Joe McElderry never got to come back either.

Yes, artists from other labels do perform but any contestant who has found success with a non-Sony label never is allowed back.

What label are they with now? I don't think they're with Universal any more.

Since when could they actually sing? The song is a bit cheesy but I didn't know they could sing that well.

They just wrote and produced an album. They never were a novelty act, they were always serious about music. They were just very inexperienced when they started out on X factor.

They could easily have done reality TV show after reality TV show and walked red carpets for a living. But they were serious about the music.

They wanted to write pop songs.
And now they have.

Free Spirit went down great at their concert in Dublin last night. When the chorus kicked in the whole audience just bounced. The twins just looked so happy to have the audience singing along to their very own song.

Practise!

X factor was nearly 5 years ago now, they're 22 now and their voices have settled,

I love it! Simple lyrics with a damn catchy tune and hook line I can't stop singing. I think it's a great achievement writing and producing such a good pop song and I hope it gets some decent airplay and is a hit for them.

I didn't realise that there were multiple threads. Here's what I wrote in the other one.

I assume the op realises that they haven't really written the single and album on their own. They are now working with songwriters and producers who are happy to give away co-song writing credits for zero/minimal input from them.

I'm not knocking them, just explaining how the process works.

As i said In the other thread, I know for a fact that they have written and produced it themselves, as they have the whole album.

The same as I know for a fact that they direct, film and edit their own music videos.

Sadly it's easy for you to, deliberately mislead people and even more sadly some will be only too happy to be misled

Of course you do. It was very kind of the boys to invite their stalker...sorry, number one fan into their writing sessions.

If it helps you to enjoy their music more by believing that they wrote it all then good luck to you, I'm not trying to destroy your illusion by telling you that Santa isn't real. I'm just correcting some of the untruths you have posted on the duplicate threads you started for those that may believe what you wrote.

When Jedward say they've written and produced it themselves, I just assumed that meant they were involved in the process, not that they were solely responsible?

The production on the last two albums was really good, so I was hoping they were still working with some of the same people.

Thanks for the link, I've pre-ordered

You obviously have some kind of hang up about this!

The fact is the lads wrote the songs they produced them and they are releasing them now.

Whatever you believe is irrelevant as you have no proof to the contrary and resorting to insults and slurs against me does not strengthen your case.
