Unlike 2013, I feel there have been less debut albums that have really excited me. However, the debut album from Fear Of Men is really special and one of my favourite records of 2014 so far:

What have been your favourite debut albums of the year so far and which ones are you looking forward to?

I was surprisingly impressed by The Vamps' debut album Meet TheVamps. They wrote over 2/3 of the music featured on it which is great for a boy band (even though they play instruments.)

Iggy Azalea's The New Classic was really good - much in the vein of Fancy.

Anel Haze's Dirty Gold is absolutely beautiful.

I liked her early EPs but this was really disappointing and the sales were pretty poor too...

Really? I loved her mix tapes but I found it really poor. The production is cheap and generic and the delivery seems contrived somewhat.

Still love New York though

I'd heard good things about the Fear of Men album but I found it all a bit too lightweight and, I dunno, "twee" for my tastes. Plus it just reminded me of early 80s indie stuff in a way that just made me feel I'd heard it all before.

My favourite debut album of the year so far is Paul Thomas Saunders Beautiful Desolation. Which could be argued is another 80s throwback in terms of the sound, but in this case I actually like it. Here's a track

I've been listening to this today, it's great, but it sounds exactly like Tame Impala. Everything, right down to the vocals, is just like what Kevin Parker has done.

Ella Henderson's Chapter One - It's literally the perfect album, not one bad song and everything about it is incredible!
Tinashe's Aquarius - Amazing, such a unique album

Tinashe - Aquarius
I LOVE her, she deserves so much success, she's worked so hard for years at her mixtapes (which she made all on her own in her bedroom) so I'm glad she's finally getting recognition. I love the Janet Jackson-esque interludes! Highlights are All Hands On Deck, Bated Breath, Pretend and the hit 2 On! She's definitely one to watch

Jhene Aiko - Souled Out
I loved her EP, Sail Out, which she released last year, so I was looking forward to this and she didn't disappoint. Remember, Wading and Lyin' King are my favourites!

Azealia Banks - Broke With Expensive Taste
Finally, I've been waiting 3 years for this! It was worth the wait though, it's an excellent album. Idle Delilah and of course 212 are brilliant!

Catfish and The Bottlemen - The Balcony. Not only my favourite debut album of the year, but my favourite album of the year. By miles.

Royal Blood (self-titled) = Possibly the best album I've heard in quite a few years, find them to be a refreshing new act in the alternative scene who should do well for years to come

You're very entitled to your point of view, but I disagree. It's definitely not perfect, but it's a very acceptable start in my eyes.

Fka twigs and Tinashe were definitely some of my favourite full length debuts this year.
