Double texts
Hi,
I have a Samsung galaxy mini s3. Since about Thursday my phone has been sending double texts to my mum. I've text my dad and brother too, but they only get the one message. This led me to think it was my mums phone. My friend has just said that I'm sending double texts to her too. Is there any way of finding out if it's my phone/stopping it? |

Mum and Dad are both on O2, brother on EE and friend on Tesco. So don't think it's that.
Guess I'm just going to have to stick at annoying random contacts with double texts for now |

Sorry if this seems a silly question but are the definitely receiving two texts? Only with my iPhone, because of the settings I believe, it will give the text tone and display a new text which you can read from the lock screen. But if you don't actually open the texts to look at it the tone will sound again within a minute or so which makes it seem the text was received again. However if you open the texts up only one message was received.

iPhones can receive messages via two different methods (IP based and GSM based) as can any O2 customer with TuGo installed.
First you need to figure out if your phone is sending double texts or the recipient is seeing a text arrive twice. This is an important distinction but you've claimed it's both in the OP. If your phone is sending double texts you would see two texts from yourself in your outbox or the conversation history each time. |

What sort of phones do you and they have (iPhones,Android, etc) and what Text sending/receiving software (default, iMessage, hangouts, hand cent etc) It could be that there is only 1 text but it is being received by more than 1 app.
