In a dismal week well done to Partyanimal as the only player to break 20 and top score therefore. PA was the only player to gain two exacts, the claret and blue colours of West Ham and Villa. His feat was all the more creditworthy considering he got stung in all three cowpat games (more of later).

With only 7 different players getting an exact prediction it was the lowest number of maxers since the first season when we averaged only 17 players.... (and even then only 3 weeks had fewer maxes!).

Little difference to the table again as you’d expect in a low scoring week. Yakutz has regained second spot from Tokyo however. The only other change in the top ten is Clarky & Minky swapping places.

Needless to say, the stat table doesn’t make brilliant reading! Only two games brought in three digits, the best of which was Arsenal with 120. With 60/63 right result predictions this was the most correctly predicted game of the weekend too.

The most maxes, three (!), came from West Ham’s 2-0 win over Spurs, and, perhaps more impressively, the uber that was Everton 2-3 Man City.

Clunker of the week was Chelsea’s duck egg at the Bridge versus Norwich.

This week was the second time this season that, collectively, we have failed to amass 500 points (something we achieved in every week of last season).

There were three cowpats this week:

Palace 3-3 Liverpool: 51 players suffered a -2 by tipping the away compared to 7 players who gained a +2 by going for the draw. Digiremote went 2-3 though to uberlose, which was really rough.

Newcastle 3-0 Cardiff: This one did nobody any favours, just nobbled six players who had the 2-0 (hence a -3 pat).

Swansea 0-1 Southampton: Thebenster was the only player to gain a +5 with his 0-1 selection, whilst 16 other away pickers pocketed a +2. DDRicky & Paul C would have been gutted as their 0-0’s went up in smoke with a comedy goal at the death (-5’s each), and the 24 other draw selectors wouldn’t have been chuffed either (-2).

Overall. Renegade & Real Ale had the best fortune, gaining +4’s overall, whilst DDRicky must have run over a black cat to incur a -10 out of that. He was one of the two players to pick up a neg pat in all three fixtures, alongside the aforementioned Party Animal.

One thing to note, with a lot of players scoring in 2 or 3 matches and also gaining quite a few points, nearly half the field recorded either an SB or a PB in the form guide at some point between weeks 28 and today. We have marked the PB/SB column appropriately for anyone who would have achieved a best at any point in the past 10 weeks had the outstanding fixtures been played on the original date (trust that makes sense – as a PB or SB in that column does not necessarily mean their current score is actually their best). We have also updated the best consecutive weeks for maxes if anyone was affected.

Another noteworthy feat concerns the benster. He managed to score points in 43 matches between weeks 27-34 inclusive, that’s the best return of the season.

Congratulations again to Charlie Parr on being re-crowned DS Premier League Prediction Champion! It really is remarkable how this competition throws up repeat winners (Sattrega and Tokyo having also won twice).

To repeat, Charlie’s 35 week nett winning total of 584 is a joint record, and if you’d added on his three worst scores, his gross 38 week total of 608 is the highest ever.

Another fine season for Yak claimed the runners up spot. Added to his third last season and numerous other close shaves, he may well have the most consistent all-time record now (end of season stats to follow) for ever presents.

Tokyo has only finished outside the top 10 once in the seven years he has been playing, and again finished a highly commendable third.

The only other thing to note is that fourth place dean michael set a new record for correct result predictions over the season (irrespective of getting the scorelines right), with 229.

Benny Johns finished the season as the most in-form player and will be looking to take that form forward into next season, whilst there were PB’s or SB’s for Dyer, Pepperoni, Belligerence, Bandit & Apple Crumble.

Dyer is currently on the best max-per-week run of 7, something we will be keeping an eye on into the next campaign to see if it ends up beating the record.

There was just one cowpat to round things off, Fulham 2-2 Crystal Palace, the recipients of which you can see by the +7 uberpat in the penultimate column. No fewer than 19 players suffered a -5 pat with their 2-1 to the Eagles predictions.

So, congratulations to Dyer on winning Cow Pat Corner! Commiserations to dazc in 2nd but especially dgsmith who led the way nearly all season but had to settle for third.

Although the real commiserations should, I guess, be reserved for poor old dbal, who ended up the unluckiest player of the season with -46.

Only 13 players ended up with a positive cowpat for the season, which I suspect is an all-time low.

Congratulations once again to Dim Sum on holding onto the title by a solitary point! Always a pretty awesome achievement to win any Burbleby / Chant football competition, so well done indeed Dim

It was, as previously reported, desperately tough on tso who would have won but for Real’s injury time equaliser. Little consolation, but I think it was therefore the closest comp we've ever had, in terms of points difference (one), and the fact that it went right to the wire (two mins to go in the last match).
