Dead JML TV Set.
At my place of work (retailer) we have a LCD screen TV set which runs JML Infomercials probably via a built in DVD player or something., however I noticed that the set no longer works apart from a blue flashing light on the sets cabinet, Does this mean that the set has gone in to power safe mode because it power supply has been damaged somewhat do to a power failure and/or surge.

Probably means the set has developed a fault. Flashing power lights quite often indicate a power supply type problem but does not necessarily mean it is due to any power surge or suchlike. Power supplies tend to run hot and over a period of time capacitors in them can dry out eventually lending to failure. But this only a maybe, a blue flashing light could mean many things. Have you tried disconnecting the mains power and letting it cool off for a while they power it up again.

Thanks for your advice, more than likely they will call in the JML rep and have him replace the set.

I used to work for JML. Their infomercials are on SD card, well they used to be about 3 years ago.

I was all ready to make jokes about how you must have a spare set because "Wait! When you buy the JML 3-in-1 television set, cheese grater and greenhouse for just £149, we'll send you another one FREE!" and something about "and there's more! Buy the JML TV set and we'll also send you a one-push egg slicer" ![]() By your post not actually being about that, you've deprived me of the opportunity to make stupid jokes about infomercial-oriented gadgets. I hate you! ![]() (*) Okay, to be fair I was assuming it would just be some rebranded low-end generic Chinese set, a la "brands" like Technika, Asda's licensed "Polaroid" TVs et al |
