Series 9

I heard that Peter Capaldi wanted to battle with the Daleks as he had been a fan of the show as apparently the BBC bosses said they wanted the Daleks to take a year out or something. So, there are two points here a) I have heard the BBC say this before when troughton was around, apparently someone complained about there being too many daleks and that was it and everything was almost thrown away. So, to point (a) never should BBC bosses consider giving the Daleks a break, ever.

Point b) Does this imply Peter Capaldi's contract is only for a year ?

If it is for a year only then I would bet that the Next Doctor for series 9 is oh blimey I've just forgotten his name, Night of the Doctor oh . . . . . .oh yeah that's it Paul Magan.

Would be perfection !

Do you still think Peter Capaldi was a bad choice and that Moffat should go?

Sorry if you actually forgotten the name but I found it funny when you misspelt Paul McGann purely because it sounds like you pretended not to know the name and then you got it wrong.

As for the Daleks I don't think BBC bosses demanded a break for the Daleks in Troughton's era. I am guessing the 5 year absence was because Terry Nation wanted the Daleks to be a success in America and was planning on doing films with them that were not Doctor Who related.

In Series 8 one of the episodes is thought to be Dalek related and I have seen that comment about Capaldi wanting them but nothing about the BBC bosses demanding a 1 year break. Also because they didn't say that you cannot suggest Capaldi will only last 1 series. Also they won't have an actor who played it previously to play it on a regular basis in the future.

Ah, how do you know that there is no written rule I fink he would be the best ever

By the way I am really glad you like my spelling, it allways makes me laugh too .

And yeah, unfortuanatley, I do find Peter Capaldi to be a choice I would not have voted for . . .for sure

Did I imagine this, or is there some sort of "condition" that states that the Daleks must appear in at least one episode of each new series? Even if just a brief cameo such as in Waters Of Mars.

I think that was a rumour, based on the supposed wrangles it took to allow the Daleks to be featured at all. I'm not aware of it having ever been substantiated. Anyone have any better information?

Another is Capaldi going to leave thread? We've had like 5 of these already.

Also Paul McGann would be disastrous as the Doctor. As brilliant as he was, its time to let it go and accept what we had. Let someone new take the reins when Capaldi leaves. Only 12 (13) people have actually played this brilliant character in canon, why would you want to reuse one we've already had. In fact, if we were to reuse an old Doctor, why don't we say Smith or Tennant? They were much better at being the Doctor than McGann in my humble opinion.

So your using two things you 'heard' as rumours (as opposed to actual factual quotes) to suggest that they act as actual evidence that Capaldi will have one year? its not really much of a strong argument really. What you're basically saying is your using assumption of facts to make other assumptions.

Even if the the thing's you 'heard' were actually factual information, they still wouldn't conclusively prove that Capaldi only had one year. Those things could just as easily prove that he was disapointed that he wouldn't get to battle them in his first year.

I'm not even going to go in to the idea of proposing a past doctor to return as a full time new one.

Are we talking Doctor who fantasy here or Dr who Fact because I thought Dr who was Like a fantasy, something that is not real in any way and this is a fantasy forum wher we can play a little bit so why get all huffy about it.

Curiously though last time I looked Magans thing was going to be up for a year but now its been taken down :

I've never known it reffered to as a 'fantasy' forum. I think there are more threads based on fact or opinion of fact than anything else. I apologise if my previous post came off as a little harsh, but my problem was that you tried to present information as fact without any basis other than 'I heard a rumour somewhere'.

Imaginative or opinion based threads obviously do happen and flourish when presented for what they are, but that didn't seem the case here

If you want to do a thread based entirely on your opinions and theory's then do, but please make it clear that is what it is rather than acting as though unproven rumours are fact.

You can guarantee the Daleks will make an appearance this year. Even if it's at Christmas. In order for the BBC to keep the rights they must be in every series.
