Surprised there's not a thread about this already, but since the last update I cannot download to completion any TV programs. Most of the time the download status bar shows 100% but the usual 'Download Complete' does not show.I've re-installed the app but still the same.Is anyone else getting this problem, or is iPlayer not popular here?

Using a Nexus 7-mk2, 2013 version.

Same here on my Hudl.

There is a an open issue on their web site but it is not totally clear if it relates to this problem as they don't datestamp the bloody things.

There is a statement about android devices not working but as you said it's not time stamped so I've no idea whether it's this most recent issue.
I'm getting the impression the BBC are not fit for purpose re informing the licence paying public about issues such as these.

I came across a similar problem last night. I downloaded a program and it worked fine. I put three other episodes in queue, and they seemed to download but remained in queue and did not move to download section.

There was no way of deleting them either (I had to reinstall BBC IPlayer).

Using Android Moto G with Kitkat.

I found that I could delete them by going back from the Download Queue to the programme page and holding the Download button on there to get the Remove from Queue option.

Note: A test of the Weather update from last night just worked (which wasn't before). Does that mean they have fixed it? Just trying a proper programme ...

That's the issue exactly oilman.

I've now sent a message through the BBC's strangely labourious Contact Us system, and hope to receive feedback about this issue ASAP.
Could it be the latest update has borked things up for android users, at the cost of fixing bugs for other platforms/devices?

LOL I doubt it gomezz, Eastenders downloaded fine only I don't watch it

Deleting problem downloads did work for me after some mucking about initially, only now when I try the iplayer App stops working altogether!

Recently got a new lap-top with Win8.1 and I find I cannot play back recorded programmes from iplayer .WMP can't play them , presumably because of mpeg4. I have tried other video converters, but no success. Any ideas, anyone?

Because of digital rights you can only play back bbc progs using the BBC dowloader program. Suggest you try a full reinstall?

Due to the problems I tried iplayer on my laptop yesterday to be greeted with that new BBC Downloader install prompt.Do I need to uninstall BBC iplayer desktop , as I have both of these programmes installed at the mo, and it took ages to download a show?

Also I take it this is unrelated to our original problems with android devices, or is there also a BBC Downloader app for android?

Was able to successfully download a couple of programmes from yesterday to my Hudl. Does this mean they have fixed the problem for recent programmes but older ones are going to be left to wither?

Due to lack of feedback I don't know if it was the info I supplied to the BBC techs via their 'Contact Us' link, but iPlayer is running fine now on my Nexus 7.2 .

How's everyone else doing on here?

The BBC is obviously monitoring this forum as I received this email 15 minutes afer my last post:

Quote:
“Dear Mr xxxxxxx

Thanks for contacting the BBC iPlayer Support Team.

We received reports from some viewers reporting that some downloads would not complete fully or transfer from the queue on the iPlayer app for Android devices.

I can confirm that this was fully investigated.

We can announce that on Thursday 24 April we had fixed this problem of programme downloads not completing on the Android iPlayer app.

There are still some programme downloads broadcast from the past week that we are working to correct. However, programmes that have reached their 7 day availability limit will not be available to download (or stream).

Unable to remove a programme from the download queue

We're also working on publishing an update that fixes a problem where you couldn't remove a broken programme download from your download queue. So please remember to update when released.

I hope that you find this information useful.

Thanks once again for taking the time to contact us.

Kind Regards

So I'll take this opportunity to thank the BBC Techs for resolving the main issues promptly

I am not aware I updated my BBC Iplayer (I only do manual updates), but queuing now seems to work most of the time but I have had a couple of glitches but I now seem to be able to delete download now and restart.

Much better (useable now) but still a bit flakey now and then.

Same here on both the tablet and my S3, hopefully it'll fix the ability to jump fw or bk and still retain the video as well as the sound now.

Downloads worked after they fixed an alleged certificate issue on 24th but now the new update on android seems to have recreated the download failure problem. ......

Did this get resolved? I'm still having issues with programmes downloading 100% but not moving over to the downloaded page. Running it off Moto G.
