Best Drum Intro?
This isn't too bad imo. I'm no expert on the finer part of drumming though.
Blondie - Dreaming Btw is it just me, or do the women in that video seem very much up for it!? Any more suggestions? |

There are probably better but I always liked this.
The Moody Blues - I'm just a singer in a Rock n'Roll Band. |

Always - Bon Jovi
Absolutely cannot stand them but I love this track and the drum intro, sorry this is a lazy choice but it was the first one that sprang to mind, I'll go through iTunes later and see what else I can find. |

There's actually a great number of these.
The test is do you get the song from the drum intro? (Close eyes and click) U2 - ? Led Zeppelin - ? |

Some interesting suggestions there.
Let me throw in Keith Moon. There are probably better ones from Keith and The Who but I can't think of them atm. |

Place Of My Own by Caravan always has been one of my favourites. Great sounding organ solo as well.

Nice thread. First one that came to mind was the great Cozy Powell on Lost in Holywood but already been mentioned.
Other ones that give away the song: Over The Mountain (Ozzy Osbourne) Starry Eyes (Motley Crue) Gimme All Your Lovin' (ZZ Top) |

Cozy Powell sounds as if he's trying to dismantle his kit with a couple of baseball bats. That really was a quality album. |

He's the Greatesr Dancer, by Sister Sledge. Tony Thompson from Chic and The Power Station on the drums. Only four hits on the drum before the music starts, but so solid and perfectly produced.

I've yet to hear anything better than this. It's the slow build-up after the initial fast flurry that really gets to me.
