Humax HB 1000S occasionally fails to wake from standby
E.g., you press button to wake from standby and just get a black screen. Switching off and on again fixes it. This is about the third time it's happened to me in about a year. Ideas?

Quickest and cheapest thing to do first is check that your HDMI cable is fully connected and even try changing it for another.

Another thing to do is to turn off any HDMI CEC options on your tv.

I've had a black screen a couple of times after wake-up but, as already stated, a switch off then back on sorts it.
A more annoying niggle, I've had a few times, is going straight to recordings after wake-up and it says I have no recordings despite the % bar saying otherwise. Again, a switch off and then back on sorts it. |

Earlier today I couldn't change channel or perform any operations in fact, including putting it back into standby. Again, switching off and on sorted it. I've had this from time to time with the Foxsat as well, though not in the past year. The 1000S has been more unstable in this regard.

I rather suspect that on start-up the unit (and it's sister units) perform a number of tasks and that constructing the recording list is not the highest priority.
Will try and test this out, as if I am correct, trying again a little later (say 1 or 2 mins) should show the list. No big problem - it's just that brief horrible feeling that all the recordings may have gone

The black screen and no recordings' list have been resolved by switching off into standby and then back on. Prior to this I had Sky and that needed a mains reboot every couple of weeks! |
