Just wondering, was anyone else embarrassed for the Corrie writers watching the stripping scenes last night. I had to watch through a cushion. Total cringe.

The disimprovement in corrie over the last year is astounding. The powers that be really need to up their game.

The writers haven't got a clue. They had the womenfolk campaigning against a lap-dancing bar then very soon afterwards leering after men stripping in the bistro. I suppose they could claim it's realistic.

I don't know if I've got the right to say anything as I've denied myself indulging in CS for a little while now but I still read the DS posts. I 'm glad I didn't see that stripping thing. It's what I meant about CS becoming a bit sleazy. Well, ...more than a bit.
It makes me wonder who decides the over all plan for the episodes and if they have a constant sexually orientated agenda. If so, go and do it elsewhere please.

CS is now even worse than ED when it comes to cringe.

Nobody stripped. It was just somebody with no shirt on jigging around with flabby bits.

Kal is not 'buff', the hens, Leanne and Steph's reaction was ott. The whole thing was cringey, he had moobs and love handles, not what you expect from a gym instructor.

The whole storyline was corny, trashy and unlikely and much more typical of EE 'make it up as we go along/who shall we kill next to get some viewers' production values than Coronation St IMO.........

Also not impressed with the so called shop that Tracy and Rob work in ...........it looks nothing like a shop and where on earth did that idea come from and similarly the Gym set looks absolutely amateurish and embarrassing.

Unless I have missed crucial episodes The Anna Windass storyline looks highly far fetched and extremely unlikely.

The usually reliable Corrie is definitely taking a couple of dodgy turns lately.

There were no stripping scenes last night, Kal had the job of serving the pudding with his top off, thats all.

I loved his face when they grabbed a handful and slapped it on his belly though, lol

Leanne is now thinking' yep' I'll have some of that'

Exactly. Can't speak for stag nights, but any hen party I've ever been (reluctantly) forced to attend included a lot more stripping than some average-bodied guy taking his shirt off.

The whole thing was only designed to get Leanne and Kal together anyway, so what the hell does it matter how fit he was? We've all recently laughed our socks off at poor Nick's pipecleaner legs. Are they seriously more attractive to any woman than Kal's 'cuddly' physique?

I think it's awful that people are calling him chubby and not fit enough to run a gym, he is just an actor and it must have taken a lot of gut to take off his shirt for that scene, bless him.

I thought he looked quite nice no wonder so many people have a poor body image if a normal looking bloke can be ripped to bits for being a normal weight.

I wouldnt mind a squeeze from him

I know. I suppose we should just be grateful it wasn't a woman getting lambasted for not looking like Twiggy for once. He looked fine to me too and given a choice between him and MatchstickLegs, I know which one I'd be kicking out of bed.

Ditto, warleywitch. I read the DS posts, ever hopeful that Coronation Street will find writers who can write on anything other than sleaze and sex - but I wait in vain. I suppose there are people who get excited watching Sophie and her tramp friend playing sex games, but I don't think the majority of loyal CS viewers are amused by it. I see the writers as pubescent boys who are preoccupied with their genitals.

It wouldn't have been cringeworthy if the PHEELSTER had been stripped down to his vest.
A man with a sense of decency.

Haven't seen it but it sounds rehashed don't you think?? Was it last year that it was Karl, Jason "stripping" due to a stripper going walkies? , if they want a stripper just get one end of!

He looked healthy and normal. But it would be impossible for any personal trainer/gym owner to be quite that "normal" and there was no need for the writers to bring it to our attention. With a T-shirt we could imagine a six pack.
I am surprised the gym members weren't demanding refunds!

Well you needn't have worried, anyone who stopped watching Corrie out of disgust at its descent into the world of sex.

Corrie quite rightly made a complete hash of the 'stripper' scene. They have and always will do any scenes involving physical contact between people with all the grace and aplomb of Les Dawson. Thank god.

Or to put it another way - it's meant to be cringe!
