Trying to copy some photos from my kids 5s to my PC yesterday, what a nightmare, drag and drop is a unbelievable omission.

Use a third party app such as syncios. You can then copy the pictures/folder to your computer without any faffing with itunes.

If you plug in the USB cable (used for charging) the iPhone appears as a drive letter and you can drag/drop the JPG files. Or you can run a program like Picasa (free from google) that will see the iPhone the same as a camera connected.

What you can't do it put stuff TO the iPhone, its copy only, but you can delete.

Ended up transferring the whole content in the end and yes ended up sending something to the cloud to put it on iphone, far too much faff for my liking.

Why? iPhones support MTP when connected via USB to a computer, so as previously said they DO support drag and drop of media FROM the device, just not to it.

They might by some be considered/told small but likely they all do not suit Apple.

I can see the tragicomedy of it all, and the near inanity of much iNews too.
Obviously the question is about waiting for iGodot.

Seriously though, they should really concentrate on the web engine.
Banning all others means it needs to be the best, not the limited restricted web offering that you get. Away from that war on Google they have also have that war on web apps.

But obviously the iPod, iPad etc will morph into Vita territory, well away from the web.

Because after opening itunes it prevented it being recognised in windows for some reason, having quickly given up on itunes as it was far too much hassle in there, I had a quick look online for simpler solution. Naively noting you can access the picture folder I was under the impression quite reasonably that you could copy either way, clearly not.

You say it supports MTP therefore it would not be an unreasonable expectation for me to expect that to go both ways then would it?
