What would you say was the most surprising bottom-two we've seen in eleven series? I'll always remember when Gabby Logan and Penny Lancaster-Stewart went against each other in Series 5 - that one was a real shocker.

Which ones stood out for you as being unexpected?

Rachel & Vincent vs. Heather & Brian in Series 6.

Not so much unexpected (well, not as far as Heather's concerned, anyway) but very unfair considering some of the dross that was still in the competition at that point!

i didn't think Gaby Logan being there was that shocking. I didn't think she was really all that good. More competent than her hubby technically perhaps, but maybe less crowd-pleasing. And I did think that at times, bless her, she trotted a bit like a Lipizzaner

Gabby vs Penny, just because there was no real precedent for two people tumbling down the leaderboard like that quite so early on. Obviously every bottom 2 can be rationalised post hoc but that one redefined how people thought about the voting imo.

Think the one for me is Letitia vs Alesha in series 5 - iirc, that was the week that Matt had a meltdown and sat on the steps during his routine? (Just checked and it was)

Otherwise, probably Abbey vs Rachel and Kimberley vs (trying to think who it was now... Fern Britton comes to mind)

It was Fern indeed - made slightly more surprising by the fact that she'd danced her possibly only memorable dance of the whole series that week!

Nope, gotta be Rachel--her bottom was about 1ft from the floor which ruined her dancing Lines; even though Vincente was same height, HIS bottom was 15inches Higher than hers, which spoilt her valiant efforts totally--sorry!

I remember being when I read the spoiler of Abbey/Rachel despite not having watched the show before I read the spoiler.

That's the only time I've been shocked at both people in the bottom two - I really thought Rachel was popular (or would have been safe due to her earlier B2 appearance) and Abbey was so high up on the leaderboard.
