That sums it all up

Was just thinking about how there are sometimes lines where you stop and think 'that line kind of sums up the whole show' or sums up the doctor, and think that they could use that particular line or speech seems so perfect they could use it to advertise the show.

So what are your best lines. Imagine someone asked you to make an advert using an existing quote from the show which you thought best summed it up, what would immediately come to mind for you?

Mine in particular are:

The Doctor. In the TARDIS. Next stop everywhere.
(River song, forest of the dead)

The above for me is perfect, the whole show summed up in 8 words.

if it was a longer ad though I'd probably use

“He's like fire and ice and rage. He's like the night, and the storm in the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the center of time and he can see the turn of the universe. And... he's wonderful."
(TImothy latimer, The family of blood)

So what about you? what are your perfect sum up lines from the show?

I'm guessing there must be loads from 50 years of history.

I remember this following quote being used as an example of The Doctor in a book once. It was said by Zastor in Meglos and it's this:

'Some fifty years ago, I knew a man who solved the insoluble by the strangest means. He sees the threads that join the universe together and mends them when they break. '

Now that really does sum it up.

Never heard it before, but that is pretty spot on. To be honest that was part of the reason for starting the thread, to hear all the various ways the doctor and his travels have been summed up over the years

In The Wedding Of River Song, River talks to Amy "You're funny like that, where are you?"

If you wanted to sum up the doctor from a more cynical point of view there's davros's brilliant line from Journey's end

"The Doctor, the man who keeps running, never looking back because he dare not out of shame."
