Lady of Traken

Hello, I thought it might be fun to introduce a new game inspired by the Pathe News releases on Utube. I did check for old threads but don’t think there has been a game like this before.

Over 50 years of Who there have been some obvious connections between actors in the show. So this game is simple in that you state an actor who has been in Doctor Who and a real life connection to another actor who has been in Doctor Who.
You DO have to state WHAT the connection is .The more INTERESTING the link the better. The next person follows on with the connection and the next link and so on.

For example Tom Baker is linked to Lalla Ward as he was her husband. Next person Lalla Ward is linked to …. Etc. If you get stuck on a real life connection you can use the fictional world of Who to create a link through his/ her character .

Okay I will start off with a link I discovered the other day

Jean Marsh (Lady Joanna in The Crusade and companion Sara Kingdom) was married from 1955-1960 to Jon Pertwee ( The Third Doctor)

Jon Pertwee was in a film called Will Any Gentleman, with William Hartnell (the first Doctor)

err - not exactly a link but:

Robert Glenister starred in Caves of Androzani, and then much later his brother Philip Glenister went on to star with John Simm in Life on Mars. John Simm naturally went on to play, hmm now what was that characters name in Doctor Who ... ?

The Master, who first appeared alongside Pertwee. Connection made

Whilst Hartnell was in the very first Carry On Film, Carry On Sergeant, Pertwee was in the last, Carry On Columbus.

Anneke Wills starred in the series Strange Report, which also featured Charles Lloyd-Pack, whose son Roger was in Rise of the Cybermen.

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned Georgia Moffat - daughter of Peter Davison, daughter of The Doctor - and married to David Tennant? (Does that count?)

Hello Face. Of.Jack a good connection for sure. I was hoping that posters would add a link to the last post made to make the game like a join the dots but maybe I didn't make it clear in my OP oh dear :$

I'm not sure how to amend the first post so simply the game is to t follow on with a new connection to the last post made. Apologies for any confusion everyone.

Honour Blackman was in the 1990s ITV comedy The Upper Hand, which also featured Joe McGann, who is the brother of 8th Doctor Paul McGann.

Paul McGann off course starred alongside Daphne Ashbrooke in the TV Movie. Daphne Ashbrooke once appeared in The A-Team but she wasn't the only person to feature in both that and Doctor Who. Another episode featured Christopher Neame, who played Skagra in the uncompleted Shada.

The New Avengers also starred Joanna Lumley who to date is our only 'Unofficial' Female Doctor in The Curse Of The Fatal Death.

The Curse of the Fatal Death featured the Supreme Dalek prop from Remembrance of the Daleks, (painted grey/ black for the skit, but still with the orange head lights), which was the last story to feature John Scott Martin, the oldest and longest serving Dalek operator.
