Brookside - Jordache Trial
Sorry for another Brookside thread, I know I am 20 years late on this, ha, but am binge watching each episode in 1995 at present.
I didn't see the episodes of the actual murder of Trevor, but have just seen the trial episodes and the Parkinson show. The court trial seemed to mention everything that happened. What I can't understand is how the women are seen as being so innocent ? In the Parkinson show Jackie said the system let the women down as no one did anything about it. But correct me if I am wrong but the Joradche's didn't actually go to the authorities about the abuse, did they ? Also as the abuse was happening for 3 years, why didn't they go to the police, or run away ? At least one of them ? Also supposedly they tried to poison Trevor with weed killer, gradually, and then another poison, then stab him too ? As I say, I didn't see the abuse episodes, but surely the jury couldn't have come up with any other result ? There is a appeal coming up, and I am guessing they get out from that, but surely you can only appeal if there was something at fault with the original trial ? Anyway, I know I am reading too much in to a soap, and a 20 year old one at that, haha, but it has been very gripping and great to watch back to back episodes, each episode seems to have a cliff hanger of sorts. Reminds me a lot of Prisoner Cell Block H, sometimes ludicrous plots, but ones that keep you watching. |

They did go to the authorities, that's why they were sent to the Close, it was a safe house
