I stole these from the big spoiler thread, btw; hope that's okay but I like episode spoilers to have their own individual thread.

Sounds like Dean is returning this week - he surely must be the unexpected visitor that takes the Carters by surprise and puts Shirley under fire? And I wonder if that means that he's going to be the one that Mick punches (which we know happens due to an interview DD gave a while ago.) I can imagine that him punching Dean would be the thing to leave the family in shock. I wonder who it is that supports Shirley in the Friday episode - my immediate thought would be Phil but would he really be unexpected?

This is also meant to be the week of Lucy's funeral but I can't work out what day it happens from these spoilers. Either Tuesday or Thursday, I'd say.

I would say Thursday. It seems a bit spoiler light, so I wonder if there will be an unexpected twist at the funeral.

Tuesday seems a bit action packed to have a funeral as well.

The only thing that made me think it might be Tuesday was the spoiler about Ian's grief that day; I'd imagine the funeral would exacerbate it. But it could be that they're just preparing for it on Tuesday, and Thursday is the actual day. That's if it even is this particular week. I'm surprised that the spoilers don't mention it specifically.

Might also be Stan? He's unlikely but the Walford resident part is debatable for him.

This may lead to Phil going to see Dean in the barbers, like we saw in the pictures released a few weeks ago.

Can't wait

I also think that Mick's actions that shock the Carters will be him punching Dean - I wonder what would push him to do that though?

I could imagine if Dean was really verbally attacking Shirley, calling her a bad mum and stuff like that (especially if it was in public or in front of the rest of the family), Mick might get extremely angry and just go for him. The question is, though, would Shirley actually thank him for it? It might really put her and Mick at odds, as she won't want to accept that Dean was in the wrong. Could be very interesting if that's what happens.

And yeah, Friday's episode could be the one where Phil goes to see Dean, hence the 'support' for Shirley.

Yeh the Shirley/Mick Dean/Mick relationships will be interesting to see if this does turn out to be what happens. Dean will come in a shake up the Carters, that's for sure!

My first thought was Sylvie.

Nah. They haven't cast Sylvie that we know of, and her return would do more than take the Carters 'by surprise' - Mick and Tina think she's dead! Her return will have absolutely massive ramifications for the family, far beyond Shirley.

It's definitely Dean.

I think Phil and Sharon are on a date on the Friday 16th episode as I saw the script ages ago. so not sure if it's Phil. I wouldn't call Phil "unlikely". Stan maybe?

Does Shirley know that her Mum is alive? more to the fact does Stan know?

I'm pretty sure both Shirley and Stan know. Could be wrong on that, though.

I would like to know if Babe and Stan have had any contact prior to Stan's arrival in the show.

Another interesting looking week, glad things finally seem to be kicking off with the Carters. Hoping we will have an idea of what their big storyline will be by the time this airs.

I think it's Tuesday. Adam tweeted this "@colwyatt @dominictc I will always remember 4854/19, I think it's up there with EP16 and Ian crying to Lou" a while back, and episode 4854 is Tuesday's.

I would guess so - she knew about Dean being at Stan's before Shirley did...

Inside Soap confirm Dean is the unexpected visitor.

Also, taken from TV Choice mag..

'As Shirley receives a blast from the past, Phil gets a shock when he tries to lay a few ghosts of his own to rest. Could their mutual despair bring the former lovers back together again?'

Hmm, wonder what that could be about? Ben, maybe? Could Ian's grief over Lucy inspire Phil to go and visit Ben in prison?

Can't wait to have Dean appear as I'm quite intrigued by the skeletons coming out of the Carter family wardrobe. Plus I have an ever so slight crush on Matt DiAngelo. Looks like a very strong week with Lucy's funeral and I like Lauren and Peter as a couple.
