So this is obviously the real reason they want Stacey back: because she wins awards undeservedly.

Bit of an overreaction, don't you think? These are awards are nothing more than free publicity for the soaps, especially the public voted awards, so of course they're going to put forward their most popular actors, even if they haven't been in it that much. She only made the shortlist because people voted for her, the producers put her up on the longlist but nobody forced people to vote for her.

I don't like it that much either but at least Lindsey Coulson still made the shortlist, and it's not really worth getting worked up over.

Diane Parish was up but she sadly missed out on the shortlist. Lindsey Couson thankfully made it through but really it should have been Sam Womack nominated over Lacey Turner.

Lacey will probably win but it would be great if Lindsey could.

It's probably just to publicize the fact that she is back. If you didn't watch EE constantly for the past few months I doubt you would even know that Stacey even returned.

Besides, they nominated Lindsey Coulson anyway, I feel like she is a pretty underrated actress so I am glad they put her forward.

Of course awards are ridiculous it has less to do with that and more to do with the gall of putting forward turner in the first place. It's ridiculous and a troubling example of production thinking. Yes I was being hyperbolic but I honestly cannot see how you can't put forward for an award (regardless of the award's merit) someone who has been in the show 2 weeks. Come on - it is very suggestive of their thinking.

The very fact they are public voted awards makes them even more useless and more of a "Most Popular Actor" award. Far from disgusting. It's not the producer's fault Parish didn't garner as many votes.

Let's face it, if Stacey did a dump in the middle of the Square, she would win an award for that .

That's how Soap Awards work. It's more a popularity contest than a genuine acting awards ceremony if you ask me. Certain actors will keep getting nominated regardless.

Although I find Lacey an extreamly talented young actress, I do find her nomination this year to be unwarrented.

I'll never deny her talent but she's done nothing to warrent a best actress nomination. She's only been on screen for a few weeks, and while she did well for what has been, IMO, weak material, other actresses have been superior.

However yes, these are popularity awards and always has been. There is more chance of Lacey winning best actress over a few weeks work over Lindsey, Diane, Linda etc who have deliverered all year around. Sad but true. I still remember Ross Kemp winning best actor in 2006 for three weeks work!

EE have some of the best actresses in soap, in fact, imo, EE have the best set of actor in soap full stop.

To me these awards lost all credibility when Michael Moon didn't receive a best villain nomination. They don't seem to judge on a whole year, just recent events.
