I was shocked, it's probably because they dress him up like he is going to the north pole whereas Danny Dyer is squeezing into tight skinny jeans so everyone can see his bulge.

My end has gone all tingly.
I wouldn't say desperate. Most of the attention on the show is focussed on December 2013 to now. It's not just the actors but the show overall.
Look at the showreel they did, the oldest material is only 5 months old.

Filiman, I agree with you. It's a cynical ploy to win an award. Turner's acting isn't anything to write home about so far in 2014. It has amounted to several cobbled together scenes of her shouting at people and looking like a deer caught in the headlights. Diane Parish, Samantha Womack, Lindsey Coulson and Linda Henry have been insulted by Turner's inclusion.
Stacey's return storyline was a load of old rubbish and I believe that too has been put forward for an award. The popularity of Stacey Slater will forever elude me. She's a sour faced mare who thinks the world owes her a favour. Nothing against the actress but I don't get the love for the character. She's neither a warm character I care about or a cold hearted bitch I love to hate. She's just a miserable cow.
