Yes they are offering 3 year warranties on Apple, products. I've just bought an iPad Air from them with the 3 year warranty.
Yes as far as I know most companies only give you a 1 year warranty, which is standard. Samsung are an exception in my mind.
I'd say that the Apple 1 year warranty is a bit better than most because if you have a problem you can take it to the apple store and they will swap it out for a new device if they can't fix it on the spot.
For most other companies they would want to send it away for repair. However Samsung are getting better, now that they have opened up their experience stores. My OH took his old S3 to the flagship store because it had a problem with the charging port. They did send it away but it was fixed and ready to collect within 2 days.
