Nancy's got a depressing storyline coming up on Eastenders
Dexter is after her again. Sigh, I got banned for something I said in regards to this a few weeks back so I will rephrase it. She has so much potential as an actress, they need to give her more storylines than "romantic" storylines. Maybe have Mick and Linda called away because Linda's family is ill, and so Nancy will be left in charge of the pub for a week, along with the challenges of being thrust into this position.

nothing wrong with Dexter! Eastenders has always shown great couples who are not of the same colour or race... Matthew & Carmel Jackson, Alan & Carol Jackson.... why just put Nancy in some situation that isn't realistic.

I still think Nancy and Tamwar are the more interesting match. Genuinely not interested in her and Dexter. But ideally I'd like to see Nancy get a storyline that isn't focused around her love life. I want her animosity with Lee to be explored in more detail when he returns. I could see that heading towards something big, and it would be interesting to see a genuine brother/sister rivalry in a soap.

I agree, I want Nancy to have a decent storyline, although Dexter is more likeable when he is with Nancy.

Dexter's a nice enough lad, certainly better than her last boyfriend anyway.

What the deuce? Who mentioned anything about race? My problem with Dexter is that he is a boring waste of space (alongside Fatboy) on an otherwise good cast, who literally does not enhance the experience of Albert Square

How has Dexter avoided the axe? I'm still flummoxed how he won best newcomer at the NTAs - he's absolutely dreadful!!

I wish they would give her an interesting sl she has so much potential. I have a feeling she will be sidelined in favour of the rest of the Carters.

True, they might do an abusive relationship sl. Johnny interacts with other characters and has a group of friends, Nancy is cooped up in the Vic and hasn't had much interaction with other characters.

Is the story line that Dexter is after Nancy again or that they both show an interest in each other? I seem to remember last time Nancy being the instigator of their pairing so not sure why it is a depressing story line for her. I'm happy for these 2 to be a couple and see how it goes.

) and like Priscilla says, has friends in the square that he interacts with regularly. We really don't know much about Nancy at all beyond the fact that she has epilepsy and wanted to be in the army. Does she have any other aspirations? Friends? Is she happy to stay working at the Vic or does she want to get a job elsewhere? These are all things that make her character feel a bit hollow at the moment. I agree that in terms of storylining, Johhnny isn't loads more developed than Nancy, but he definitely feels more shaded in as a character due to some well-placed references and conversations. Hopefully we get a bit more insight into Nancy next week, even if it is just through her interaction with Dexter. |

I don't understand your issue?
Perhaps pairing Dexter with Nancy will give Dexter a breath of fresh air. He's a handsome lad and she's a pretty girl, its hardly an unlikely pairing. |

I'm actually kind of looking forward to this storyline just for the sake of seeing more of Nancy. I find her to be a joy to watch in every scene she's involved in and I look forward to her having more screen time in upcoming weeks. If a relationship with Dexter is a way of achieving that then I'm all for it, she's the Carter child who's been least explored so far and this, along with her animosity towards her sibling Lee interests me.
I personally don't hate Dexter like so many people on here do on a related note. I fully understand why everybody who dislikes him does, his "comedic" value is on a very immature level and he ruined himself beyond repair in some peoples eyes by his awful behaviour when Sam left Ava. Personally he makes me laugh at times, scenes like the one where he huffed for hours because he forgot his ID in the Queen Vic despite the fact he only lived a minute away cracked me up for their sheer ridiculousness alone which might not have been the intended effect but worked on me nonetheless. I just view him as some light comic relief, another youngster in the square who doesn't add a lot but is okay and like said above look forward to this storyline with Nancy continuing. |

Yeah I think Nancy/Tamwar would be a bit more interesting.
Dexter is a seriously dull character. |

Dexter is a seriously dull character. To be fair we've hardly had a bundle of fun from Nancy thus far. I think we need to give Nancy and Dexter time. They have possibility.
