Just catching up on last nights Corrie. The awful gym scene with Kal 'goading' Nick has finally finished me off. I couldn't watch any further and deleted the rest of the episode, and have deleted Corrie completely off the Sky planner.

It is just absolutely dire at the moment.

I've found that for the last few weeks, I've not watched it 'live', purposely to forward through annoying scenes / characters. It's got to the point where I'm forwarding through most of the episode.

I did the same when Derek Branning came into Eastenders..... I found I was forwarding through all the scenes with him in, to the point where he was used so much, I could get through a half hour episode in under 10 minutes. It got to the point where it wasn't worth watching or recording anymore, so I just stopped watching it.

I've only got back into since the Carters arrived, because I purposely started watching it after the publicity, and I wanted to see what they were like.

So Corrie is off the series link now. I might catch bits here and there, but they've lost me as a viewer. It's just been awful recently.

And has Jimi Mistry always been such a bad actor? Cringe.

I hate most characters in Corrie at the moment. Kal and his gym are so mindnumbingly boring and I really don't care! And I dislike Sophie and Maddie. And Dev. And Fiz. And Leanne/Nick. And Steve/Michelle. I don't think I've disliked so many characters at one point in time.

EastEnders trumps it at the moment.

P.S. The first half of the 8.30 Corrie episode last night was 6 minutes long. Laughable!

The exact same thing happened me with EastEnders and is also happening me with Corrie!!

Stop bragging about your lovely Sky Box Evo.
I bet you've got one of those huge plasmas there to watch it on an all, and a great settee with plush cushions, and one of those tidy 'globe' drinks cabinets full of every kind of short imaginable with all the proper glasses an that.

Spare a thought for urchins like me, watching Corrie here on an old b&w portable with dial channel finder, and a bent coat-hanger aerial.
The only Sky I have is the one I can see through the holes in my roof mate.

Somebody obviously doesn't know top notch drama when they see it. I was gripped when Kal was shouting at Nick and was on the edge of my seat about what would happen next. The only disappointment was that Nick didn't clobber Kal instead of Steve, who seems to be everyone's favourite punch bag recently.

I think Corrie is good right now personally, but if you are bored now, you won't be in summer. Tina's murder will be the big thing.

If you don't like it, don't watch it but please - do you really have to announce this decision to the entire world?

The relentless tide of negativity is just boring. Yes, I'm not that taken with the Kal/Nick/Leanne storyline at the moment but it has potential to shape up into something interesting. I'm also not totally enamoured of the Sophie/Maddie business but I don't allow that to ruin my enjoyment of the show because the Maria/Tyrone/Fiz storyline is bubbling under very nicely - kudos to the scriptwriters for managing to hoy Maria out of that character cul-de-sac she was in danger of turning down.

Apologies...... I didn't realise we could only start a thread if it was to praise a show.

I'm sure my post title indicated my feelings, so if you find the negativity boring, then ignore the thread.

Also, the Maria / Tyrone / Fiz storyline is one of the many reasons I've finally had enough. Maria has had a personality transplant. Yes, it is nice to see some kind of personality displayed for once, but when it goes against everything we know of the character, it's particularly jarring.

And as for Fiz. Well........ she's just terrible. A terrible actress and a terrible character.

I think the only thing that has kept me watching to this point has been the set move. I loved the set progress thread started by Pyramidbread, and really enjoyed the updates along the way. I kept watching because I wanted to see the new set, but the novelty value of that has passed now, and there's just nothing else about the show that's keeping my interest.

Even the Tina storyline has been ruined for me. It's dragged on for so long, and again, we've had a personality transplant with Tina, to the point where I don't care who kills her anymore, just as long as someone does, and does it quickly!

The Tina plot has not been dragged on
Its literally started in December and is going to reach a climax in May which looks intriguing actually. You are just making up excuses to hate the show.
The show is slowly improving and near Tina's death and as a fellow viewer, the negativity here makes me sick with people complaining 'oh I hate Corrie, its dire, everyone on there are bad actors and every storyline is dragged on blah blah blah'

Why on earth would I make up excuses to hate the show?????????? I've been watching it for as long as I can remember, since I was a kid.

Do you really think people make up excuses to not watch something they've enjoyed over the years??

Get over yourself.

Sorry but as a longtime Corrie viewer I disagree with you. I am enjoying bits and pieces of the show like Phelan and anything with Sally and Tim but they are not showing them enough . Also I cannot bear the tediousness that is Tina and Peter and the godwawfulness that is Sawpeh and Maddeh. Cringe,

People can criticise all they want. This is a discussion forum.

Because it's impossible to have a genuine dislike of its current state?

I've been watching Corrie for about 7/8 years and for the first time have found myself not being bothered to watch it anymore. It's just boring, dull, frustrating and incredibly unrealistic at the moment.

The ratings are going to plummet.

Yes, I reckon about six people will be left to watch the Tina murder mystery. *

It is going through a bit of a lull I agree, which I guessed was always going to happen after the Roy and Hayley story. All soaps go on a curve of peaks and troughs and during the troughs people always forsee the end is nigh but it hasn't been yet for any of the major soaps and I very much doubt it will be now.

*sarcasm

It is very poor at the moment, and its very sad that its been dragged this low. Only once Stuart Blackburn leaves should it improve.
