I think it was mostly exposition to facilitate Whitney deleting her private messages to Lucy on the night she died.

My money's on Whitney. I bet she lashed out in anger. That would explain her shifty behaviour with regards to wanting to delete it, and also explains why she couldn't bring herself to say something nice about Lucy the other day.

(In other trolly news, the biggest EE-basher ever has been sent on a (hopefully permanent) vacation. Hurrah!)

Perhaps. Or maybe Abi if she was the one who took the photo of Max and Lucy kissing. But it would be very out of character for her or Whitney to be that cruel.

True, but I honestly see several characters completely shocking viewers in the lead-up to the big reveal.

Is that Last Request Maurice? I think they definitely could do with a bit of a break on here for a while.

I was wondering if I was the only one to find Whitney trying to find out Lucy's password a bit suspicious, she remarked how if she had one password for one account she'd use it for others too which makes me wonder if she needs Lucy's password for something else that isn't her Facebook too. Then again it's possible Whitney's just being painted as suspicious to fit in with the whole "everybody is a suspect" idea.

I'm surprised the police haven't said anything about the trolling, they would obviously look at her account and see these messages wouldn't they have them blocked and wouldn't they notice Whitney's message has now been deleted.

(Got it in one )

That's a good point with regards to Whitney though. She could simply be painted as suspicious, but IMO she's at least played a part in the trolling anyway. If we need to believe everyone's a suspect, there needs to be something to make us believe that. Lauren believed/believes Jake and Lucy had a "thing", Lee dated her and Ian accused him of supplying her with drugs. Maybe the reason we (and the characters) suspect Whitney is because they find out she's been trolling Lucy's page?

I think it's a good idea to include it as it happens in real life. The police would probably be more involved with it though.

The police would have you are spot on. Also it may have been brought up on here may not but the police would have been straight round Ian's and put them up in a hotel for a night I am pretty sure of it. The police were dealing with a potential murder, there's no way they would have just said don't go in her room. Her work pc, Her phone, any laptops and hard drives would have been seized immediately, her facebook and any email account would have been frozen. Why the police have not been to see Max yet is a bit of a joke to be honest. I would also think that Whitney getting / having access to her account is either a massive clue or a red herring, she may even come across some private messages between Lucy and max.

They did take a laptop but can't have been in any rush to look through it.

We are so used to watching crime shows where they do everything so quickly. Real life is not the same, it takes time for them to collate evidence.

This, I agree apart from the police freezing her computer accounts. I think they would leave it to see if the killer went on there and tripped themselves up. The police would have put the family in a hotel while they searched the house. They would have searched Lucy's room at least.
