Chart Show TV will launch on Freeview channel 67 at 10pm next Thursday (8th May).

10pm seems like an odd time to start a channel. Will it be timesharing with Pop or True Entertainment, taking over the former BonanzaBonanza stream, or using capacity elsewhere?

(CSC Media owns Pop, True Entertainment and Chart Show, amongst others)

When POP launched IIRC somebody said it was supposed to be running 8-10, so I'd guess it will be sharing with that.

Sorry, 6-10, here

If it's sharing with POP, one that a large amount of freeview viewers wont be able to receive.

...and at the same time one that a large amount of freeview viewers will be able to receive. They must be past the 10 million homes mark by now.

If it's on the local mux then it'll definitely be the minority who can receive it, leaving many millions without. Even putting it on Com 7 would be a huge improvement.

The funny thing about splitting signal between pop and chart show, It what I wished they done with the signal for true entertainment, months ago....

It's been five years since TMF became viva. Six years since the hits became 4music..... A proper music channel is Long over due.

Hopefully will also get vintage tv and the scuzz

I am amazed its taken Chart Show TV so long. They bid in a Freeview slot in 2005 I think channel 4 won it though? Crazy to think it's taken 9 years for it to arrive. And at a time when the demand for music tv is smaller than ever as music channels are too repetitive and don't get as many viewers.

I would have much preferred a channel like 'Bliss' or Heart TV purely because most chart music is heavily promoted online these days. A channel showing classic videos is always bound to get people going "I remember this one!" and generally has a nostalgia feel to it.

Pop has a weak signal on ch75 with me in the Dunfermline area. So I don't think I will be able to get Chart Show TV.

Not sure who the owners of Vintage are but i can imagine a Freeview slot at the current prices are well out of reach.

I disagree on what most have said I feel Chart Show TV is the obvious first choice to come, and maybe longer hours first. Others can follow later.

It's sad that when we talk about older music channels theres only Vintage TV. What the heck was Magic and MTV Classic for? Both are awful.

The current prices must be dropping all the time now. Years ago, when demand far outweighed supply, slots went for around £10m per year. Now, there's loads of spare capacity around so prices must be reducing. Plus the local multiplex and the two new HD muxes with their limited range will be even cheaper still. This is why niche channels like CBS Reality, Chart Show and Travel Channel are now appearing. So, Vintage appearing is still unlikely but not out of the question any more!

No signal is weak and Pop seems to break up once in a while. I only get a 39% signal strenth and a 58% signal quality on Pop if you go to the YouView settings on both my YouView boxes.
The Samsung HD smart TV in my room that one of the YouView boxes is connected to picks up Pop on its tuner but even that has a weak signal at times.
TV in dads room that just has normal Freeview the signal from Pop is even worse. As it seems to break up quit a bit if there's bad weather.

MTV Classic isn't that bad - especially if your into 90s and early 00s stuff. VH2 needs to come back though.

It's a shame something like Deluxe Music isn't in the UK
