Region 1 discs
Hello all, I want to manually test my Dvd player to see if it is multi region, but im not prepared to spend £14 on a disc that may be usless if my fears come true. So is there any sites or companies that offer maby sample or demo discs (Pref Region 1 USA) at a cheap or free price.
Thankyou, DNZ711 |

It may be easier to ask the question here!
Tell us the make and model of the player and see what replies you get. DaveP |

Hello, well its a 'TOSHIBA SD210-E'
There is sort of code, but all you do is press the memory key, then tell the machine to play track 1. This apparentley plays even RCE discs!! But I need some one who has tried it. Or a disc to try it myself. Thanx |

Evening!
I've just checked a couple of web sites regarding your model of DVD player and can't find any evidence that there is a 'handset' multi region hack. According to the info I read, Toshiba is one of many brands available that there are no remote control hacks available for. Sony is another brand that is also "hard coded" with the region number 2 set in it. The only known way around this is to get your played 'chipped'. There are several well known reputable companies who will do this for you. Check www.techtronics.com (based in Bourne, Lincs.) for starters. I may be wrong, but I think this would be your only course of action in order to view region 1 discs.

Two guys at work both own Toshiba dvd players and I can confirm there is no remote hack for them as Tosh fully support the dvd standards. They do playback vcd and svcd very well though
![]() Hardware hack is the only option as Yeti mentions. http://www.dvddebate.com/sections.ph...ticle&artid=14 |
