I don't have a Twitter account and chose not to install the app on my M8. Despite this everyday i get an update and it installs itself. So everyday I uninstall it with the option of no more updates but 24 hrs later it ignores my choice and reinstalls and updates. Please can somebody tell me how to get rid of Twitter for good.

In Settings go to Apps, find Twitter and tap Disable.

You might want to untick the option in Google Play Store to automatically update apps. Then you'll be able to control when apps update.
